A general comment about DOGE's effectiveness has nothing to do with the statement or point I made.
It's a deflection
My bruh, your original post, the one you keep defending, was itself a deflection.
Just saying

Saying our politicians don’t care about the deficit was a deflection?

Democrats definitely firebombed Tesla dealerships and called for Musk to be imprisoned. All for daring to point out, maybe, one percent of the federal budget seemed wasteful and could probably be cut. What exactly would they do do anyone who actually attempted to cut the budget by 20%? Murder them in their front yard?

Doge will fix it i'm sure.

Then what was your point of saying “Dems opposed it” multiple times?

Yes, but USAID’s slush fund had an oversized impact on destroying conservative culture

However, can we focus first on the 65% of the budget currently in the red, instead of the areas actually lending those red items money, and which will remain in the black for 7 more years?

The GOP needs to take accountability

I've concluded that the voters don't care
The deficit is just some number that people talk about. They can't relate it to their everyday lives.

bullshite. it found tons of areas to eliminate/cut. Congress never followed through and, in fact, reestablished some of the spending that was cut with the repeated CRs

Democrats unilaterally opposed DOGE's efforts. It cannot be denied.
Courts stopped Doge. Needed Republican Congress to codify DOGE and give them power to access all documents regarding spending in govt programs and agencies and the authority to cut discretionary spending and put a halt on spending when fraud was apparent until the fraud was fixed

It seems like this was actually old news being re-reported. Back when the Department of War was talking about asking for $1.5 trillion in the future defense bill, we were hearing phrases like “the U.S. will grow its way out of debt.” I think that statement, that we don’t need austerity is viewed with a lot of skepticism, probably by both sides of the political aisle. So, I analyzed different time blocks to see whether this had happened at any point in recent memory. Well, it turns out that during the Clinton presidency, with a Republican House and Senate, there were a couple of two-year congressional blocks (four years from 1997 to 2001) when real GDP growth outpaced debt growth. But there really isn’t a single decade when that was true.
Year_block Nominal_GDP_growth Real_GDP_growth Debt_growth Nominal_GDP_minus_debt_growth Real_GDP_minus_debt_growth
1970–2026 6.21% 2.69% 8.32% -2.11% -5.63%
1970–1980 9.28% 3.01% 7.96% 1.32% -4.95%
1980–1990 7.00% 2.89% 12.16% -5.16% -9.27%
1990–2000 4.96% 2.98% 5.97% -1.01% -2.99%
2000–2010 3.60% 1.63% 7.49% -3.88% -5.85%
2010–2020 3.58% 2.04% 5.59% -2.00% -3.54%
2020–2026 5.61% 2.24% 7.71% -2.11% -5.47%
The reason a lot of rational people are skeptical when they hear claims like that, is that, no matter how brilliant someone is or a group of people may be at innovating ways to increase a nation’s production and economic output, it will always take significantly less brilliance and intelligence to innovate new ways to spend other people's money.

This is 100% because of the interest rates - they should be lowered
The interest we are paying on the debt, especially bonds, is what is driving this
