Uh Oh, the Data Center scam is getting exposed

As many of us, who were neutral, and actually read up on these shite holes, we knew this was coming.
Just a shocker

Data centers are the new evil. If you do not want data centers then quit using your phone, the internet and all else that uses today’s communications devices.

AI is driving this. Phones and internet requirements were fine (mostly) before AI.
Personally I think the evil came when smart phones came up. The internet used to be a great place until everybody could get on it.

Ironically it’s the lazy frick liberals who complain about muh water that drive the need for data centers.
If it wasn’t for the increasing need of AI to do their jobs for them and needing bandwidth for gaming and TikToks

China is spending loads of money on propaganda here for all of us to believe data centers are evil. They want to win the AI race

Hmm, you may want to think deeper about the article itself and what is behind the push against centers. There is no industry, neighborhood, city or hobby farm that is immune from negative effects of its existence, should we not have any of these either ? I had Louisiana DEQ for years fine me for runoff from wooden pallets stacked on pavement that I had to spend resources to get through the court system. All because of an over zealous white liberal lesbian agent that I laughed at when she first approached me and proceeded to read me the riot act in front of my office staff. Someone can always get negative about anything but it’s the unwanted attention that data centers are getting and the reasons are not home grown

Hang on
Lemme google and ask ChatGPT and grok and copilot the dangers of data centers before I formulate my opinion

And just how is it TIED to the data center?

And?

They flushed the cooling system pipes during the construction of the data center and discharged the water with apprently inadequate testing. The contractor fricked up while during construction. As is pretty much always the case, 90% of polluted sewage discharge is from construction projects, data center or not.
But lets just stop building this new thing and advancing technologically. Too scarey, we cant figure this out and get better at it. Let's just let those guys do it and pass us.
- every low brow at every technological turn in history of humanity
Thank God theyve been overruled at every technological turn thus far, because frankly its inevitable. If some island didnt want to go out past the waves, they'd eventually be conquered by people who did, If some moron country over there never wanted to build engines, they'd be the smallest economy on earth. If we dont want to play the AI game, we will not be able to compete at anything other than sports in the next frontier. Its still going to happen, technology is inevitable.

They should switch to another cooling system, like ammonia or nitrogen.

Stop believing the foreign propaganda…..first of all, data centers have been around for decades and there’s no data suggesting that they are harmful. It’s the same propaganda that stopped our nuclear program in the 70’s and the same propaganda that pushed the Green Agenda that is causing energy prices to skyrocket

Those things preceded data centers. Collecting a copy of every call and keystroke did not, and that is why data centers are being pushed.

"Deadly bacteria" sounds so scary. The world is full of deadly bacteria. Sometimes human activities, like farming, introduce them into the food or water supply. If they pose a risk to humans, we use drugs or chemicals or new techniques to eliminate them, preferably at the source. We don't throw the baby out with the bath water and eliminate the activity.

It's quality not quantity...we don't need thousands of data centers and many of those close to neighborhoods where it is proven to adversely affect health of both humans, animals, land, water and even pollinators.
If there is a data center that builds not far from your home...your property value decreases substantially, water pressure to your home decreases and your electric and water bills are higher. There is constant humming and bright lights to light up your home all night.
quote:
Data center low-frequency noise and infrasound (\(<20\) Hz) can travel significant distances, often penetrating walls and windows with little attenuation. Under quiet or optimal atmospheric conditions, this hum can travel from 1,500 feet to over 3 miles from the facility.
Because this noise is characterized by its long wavelength and ability to easily penetrate structures, exposure to constant sub-audible vibrations can lead to various community and health disturbances.
Residents near large industrial sites report symptoms such as:
Sleep disturbances and fatigueHeadaches and dizziness
Unexplained physical pressure or discomfort Due to these pervasive impacts, noise analyses and zoning regulations have become increasingly common.
Yes, data centers can cause or increase tinnitus for many people. The persistent low-frequency humming and buzzing from powerful cooling systems, server fans, and backup generators often create disruptive noise and vibration pollution that damages hearing and causes stress and sleep deprivation.
Here are specific reasons why this happens:
High Noise Levels: Inside a data center, continuous noise levels frequently exceed the universally recognized threshold of 85 dB (and can reach 92–105 dB), which leads to hearing damage.
Low-Frequency Hum: Data centers are one of the few industrial facilities that generate penetrating low-frequency noise and vibrations. This constant background hum travels long distances and often results in "fight-or-flight" stress, headaches, and tinnitus for nearby residents.
Data center noise can severely affect dogs, causing profound physical distress, anxiety, and behavior changes. Because dogs have far more sensitive hearing than humans, continuous low-frequency hums and high-pitched mechanical whirs from cooling infrastructure hit them much harder

And Silicon Valley transhumanists are spending loads of money on propaganda here for all of us to believe AI will usher an age of unparalleled abundance. They want to control our future.
Propaganda happens. The source of the propaganda isn’t what people make their evaluation on; their connection to it is. Anti AI messaging is winning because the people making AI are directly telling us that they are making our replacements. Nobody wants that.
