The bad news is you're going to have to pay more for your lunches, the good news is you're going to live longer.

Funny the shittiest ones are the ones with highest rise in prices. It’s criminal what Taco Bell charges these days for what it is.
I don’t hardly eat fast food anymore. The price is double and quality is shite compared to 20-25 years ago. And service is awful
I can eat lunch at the Chinese buffet, Mexican restaurant, or any of several local soul food plate lunch places for the same or cheaper price than say Popeyes or Wendy’s. And get much better food

The private equity business strategy isn’t to improve the brand by offering better choices, better quality or better service. They are locusts. They buy up popular brands (restaurants, retail stores, hotels, etc) that have a strong customer base and make a killing off the brand name by cutting corners, cutting labor, and raising prices. This will lead to high profits for a time until the brand name no longer carries the weight because they ruined it. Then they’ll gut it and sell off the real estate or sell the brand to someone who actually wants to try and revive it

Taco Bell has to be the highest. I
yup.
i told my daughter this the other day when she wanted to go there. told her id rather go to the local mexican restaurant and pay a little more for great food and margaritas than that cheap over priced shite.
proves my points how costs of stuff exploded under biden and many are not coming down unless we boycott. put em OOB.

It's the inflated minimum wage, not DJT that makes people question why are they paying $12 for a $6 burger meal from a fast food joint.

Is it a bad thing that they are pricing out the "food" that is killing many Americans?
I understand the prices, but everything is high, even the healthy options.

If you wanna eat chain food, it's hard to beat the value at Texas Roadhouse these days. Compare a burger or pork chop entree to a FF combo meal.

McDonald's using AI to price their menu is what's driving up their costs.

Almost like private equity buying up all of the foodstuff most commonly consumed by the poorest people (who are most sensitive to price increases) and trying to pivot them to compete with higher end restaurants (whom they also own yet simultaneously raised prices and reduced quality on) to the point that fast food and fast casual became more expensive than traditional family dining and mom & pop restaurants was a predictably bad idea. When your whole brand is being cheap, convenient, and low quality; people get mad when you make it less cheap (while also somehow still lowering quality).

Fast food profit margins for the major chains run in the 60 to 70% range

I actually talked to the COO of a large franchisee this weekend. He said pizza is toast - they are - and have been - losing money at all pizza stores. They have 40 Denny's - said those are breakeven if they're lucky. Just opening a bunch of Dave's Hot Chicken places and hoping to get 10% on those. Employees making $21/hour.
