Too many degree programs end up with a shortage of classes that actually pertain to their degree. So the curriculum designers just plug in required classes that the students will never use.
This is where AI could help. Math classes designed for different curriculums.
Learning about statistics and math designed for a one size fits all classroom does not optimize anyone’s time.

The problem with that theory is that easy access to federal student loans helped insulate colleges from price pressure as tuition soared. If that financing shrinks, colleges can’t assume they can simply raise prices. They may instead have to cut costs, eliminate low-demand programs, and price degrees closer to what students can afford.

Yay more government!
You guys will rant and rave about government overstepping its bounds, but we're "A-Ok" here.
As usual, while Lesbian Tribal Dance studies should NOT be a college major, or get federal dollars, you are going to see a lot of normal college degrees wrapped up in this too, which is a huge problem.
I've been super clear about this before, I will put my take home pay and worth against anyone here - on my "probably shouldn't have been federally funded" Literature degree AND MA. (It wasn't I didn't need it, but still, point stands). There are different ways to learn, people with different strengths, different ways to view the world. We do not need to limit the "good" ideas to math and science majors.
The proper thing here is LESS government, and no federally funded degrees. Period.
