If the baby stays when the parents are deported, yes, the citizen would have to be placed in state custody until a permanent home is found with a relative or someone else.
No different than if the child’s parents were killed in a car accident.

If we can't get the save america act done, this will absolutely never get codified into law, which means if it's not struck down by a liberal judge (it will be) the next Democrat president will just undo it. I don't know how much more of this bastardizing of the Constitution and ideals that this country was founded on I care to take.

What if the parents want the baby to go with them? That's the problem with "anchor babies". Especially the Chinese. They are born it the U.S. but then raised in China as a communist only to return to the U.S. as a citizen to vote to instill their communist raising.

Do y'all realize that 5 out of 9 SCOTUS justices just confirmed birthright citizenship in the 14th Amendment applies to anyone born in the US except for the children of foreign ministers and children botn in Indian reservations?
There are no other exceptions. The Court fully considered and rejected all arguments relating to illegal aliens, birthright tourism, and the like.
We don't have to agree with the SCOTUS opinion, but none of those 5 justices are going to change their mind anytime soon.
Wait for at least one of those 5 to leave the bench, or try to amend the Constitution. There is no other way.
Okay, I guess you could try packing the Court.

They keep attacking this the wrong way. Fine you are a birth citizen. Your parents and entire family aren't Come back when you are 18 and living on your own. Simple as that. Having a kid here doesn't make you and your entire family citizens. Get the frick out. Your kid can come back at 18.

Genuinely curious, do you think that the law now is that the whole family gets citizenship once the kid is born? Do you not think hundreds of thousands of parents of citizens are being deported?
