Allow me to make an analogy: If you've ever seen Beverly HIlls Cops, you know there are such a thing as bearer bonds. If you have them, you can cash them in. No registration or such, they're basically like money.
But if I break into Victor Maitland's warehouse and steal his bearer bonds, although I can theoretically cash them in for money, they still aren't my bearer bonds. I'm not entitled to that cash. I committed a crime in order to take something of value. It's tainted.
Now we look at birthright citizenship. It exists for various reasons. Empowering those previously enslaved and brough there through force. Encouraging legal immigration to fill the empty western states. it does not exist to create rights for those that wish to change the voting rolls or grab some social benefits but otherwise live in another country.
If one's parents sneak in illegally, one should not have citizenship. If one's parents are wealthy birth tourists from Russia or somewhere, one arguably should not get citizenship.
But you know all this, and you probably even agree if anybody but Donald Trump were proposing this legislation. If Obama or Bush pushed this idea, you'd be on board.
It's more idiotic Trump Derangement Syndrom. We think it cheapens your posts.

TBoy..as usual you are WRONG...Our constitution says NOTHING about crossing our border ILLEGALLY and dropping a baby in the back of a car in the hospital parking lot just to make it a citizen and give you, the mother. a right to be here..It also says NOTHING about birth tourism being an acceptable means of acquiring citizenship...This law was for the children of adult slaves brought here purposefully, NOT illegal aliens and Chinese tourists.

He should just make it so birthright citizenship to foreigners requires a $1 million tax. The Supreme Court has already decided that the Constitution doesn't matter if you call something a tax.

Well, it doesn't do that anyway. The mother can still be deported all day long.
