What was Harris going to do for the economy?

Since you obviously wanted her as president.

Does this include MIA Toyotas? I’d need more than $10k to purchase a shitty American vehicle

Elon argued that subsidies should be removed entirely because they prop up less efficient competitors more than strong players.

He said ending the federal EV tax credit would hurt rival automakers (legacy brands like GM or Ford) far more than Tesla, which he believes is already dominant and profitable without needing the incentive.

He has consistently advocated for ending government subsidies across all industries.

Hell no. No different than cash for clunkers. Government should not manipulate supply and demand. Period.

Why do I need to subsidize someone else's new vehicle purchase again?

It’s a rebate on your interest payments. It’s not the same.

10k off a 90k Ford - no thanks

Appreciate the sentiment, and new car buyers will hopefully get a deal from this. Plus, American car makers are such POS shiesters, they'll just add 10k to the sticker to try to cash in. If any corporations need to go belly up, it's American car manufacturers.

And that's ^^^ the problem. The average price of new American made 1/2 ton pickup truck is $65K, if you want all the options it's closer to $75K.

I've been reading reviews for American pickups and most of the reviews are not real great for trucks made between 2021-2025, one mechanic suggested buying a low milage American made pickup made prior to 2021.
