Announce a 60 day or 90 day self deportation window. If you leave in that time frame you are allowed to take your assets and wealth with you. After the time frame is up all assets/wealth are seized by US Government and you leave with nothing.

I wonder how hard it would be for a US citizen to fake being undocumented for the free airfare.

I don't have an issue with this.

Meanwhile, continue to tighten down on border crossings, continue to process out those with known criminal histories, and put more effort into either enforcing or implementing harsher laws against companies that employ illegal immigrants.

Announce that all laws against employing illegal immigrants will now be enforced against those who are employing them. At the same time announce that you will be doubling efforts to write new, harsher laws against this practice that will include heavy fines and maximum legal prosecution under the law. Once that law is passed, if you can get Congress to actually do anything, give a thirty day grace period after which you will start making arrests of known violators.

As long as you continue to look the other way for companies that have the practice of employing illegal immigrants as a cornerstone of their business this problem will always persist. Just because they donate to your campaigns, go to your parties, play golf with you, etc. doesn't mean they get a pass. They are a huge part of the problem, and they must be stopped.

And a federal district court has issued a temporary restraining order based on the principle of View point Discrimination, and requires the fed govt to pay the 1000 in cash a week before they exit the US to allow time for bon voyage parties.

Spoken with passion and I respect that. But you're clearly no business man. Think about the total cost associated and how slow it will be to track all of these people down. Do you have any idea the cost of employing one ICE agent? How about the taxes, benefits, vehicle, gas etc. And that one ICE agent might efficiently be able to get 100 illegals before trumps time is up. We could offer them $10k and still come out cheaper and move exponentially faster.

Me, I'd offer them $5k, a plane ticket home. And first priority to come back the correct way in the future.

Or, your family gets deported and the men stay to work in a prison camp Cool Hand Luke style for 25 years.

Pay them nothing, treat them like terrorists and stop negotiating

I think this is more to get around dealing with retard activist judges, etc., who are trying to undo normal, legal deportations.

I think it's the only reasonablel solution. With 20+ million here illegally we'll never be able to round them all up and deport espically if it cost $17k a head. Put fear in them they could be arrested at any time and deported on a moments notice and the alternative of a little planning and expenses paid to leave may entice many to go voluntarily.

Insane it cost so much

Check handed over when one foot is over the border. I'm okay with paying them to leave as is cheaper in the long run. If you have kids born here, they have to go with you, and here's an extra 2 grand in the process

This would be way cheaper than a lifetime of welfare and medical care and dealing with their anchor babies in perpetuity.

Which is why I am skeptical why anyone would self deport for $1,000. It’s completely illogical financially.

The cost benefit analysis would seem to easily fall into favoring this plan.

Oh it’s so favorable and skews CBA so much…it’ll take a complete dumbass to self deport when they probably get over 1K in government assistance of some kind in a matter of months.

If we are going to do that, get their biometrics on the way out and don't let them ever return.

Most illegals get monthly subsidies which amount to 3 times that one-time payment. From phones to basic health/education services to cash and EBT. Unless the subsidies are cut or some of the plain folk who did nothing more criminal that cross the Border illegally (under the guise of Asylum) are deported, then that offer is practically a non-starter.

Hell, heinous criminal gangsters designated as Terrorist can't even be deported minus millions in court costs.

Pie in the sky dream.
