Y'all can keep whining about losing the midterms, but if the party isn't going to do anything except what is popular with the Great Unwashed, what's the point of winning the election? The damn Democrats will do that. What do we need an alternative for if all they're going to do is take a poll and follow the results?

This is why we're $38T in debt. Nobody can think about the distant future. It's only about the next election.

Not good

This will destroy the Repubs at the midterms.

They need to start thinking.

...and I've paid mine along with two family members'.

Why is their debt special or untouchable compared to someone who has a car repossessed or goes into rental eviction or foreclosure?
It's amazing how people who get a BA or BS and have to repay a debt get to act as if they are some superheroes wearing a cape with an image of a diploma on the back.
I repaid my student loans by taking a second job doing substitute teaching. It was about 35 grand I had to repay (principal and interest).

I’m guessing these people didn’t read the paperwork closely.

Responsibility must be taken.

These people took loans and agreed to repay them.

If they wanted to be able to declare bankruptcy to clear the slate, they should not have borrowed from the government.

And when we find out that they're only garnishing the wages of people who make plenty of money to repay their loans, but just don't? What then? Are we still going to be mad when it's found out that the people who are being garnished are simply stealing that money?

I bet there won't be too many philosophy majors caught up in this because they all work at frickin McDonalds.

And I agree with the idea that payment shouldn’t be optional on these loans.

So you agree payment shouldn't be optional but don't agree with enforcing that? Retard.

Also the people that vote for Republicans fully support wage garnishment for student loan avoiders.

If you borrow money, do not borrow so much that you have to continually pay it back with interest, while having to borrow even more money as to continue living beyond your means while paying back what you originally borrowed.

Now, what were you saying about student loans?
