That depends.
Opposing war is hardly a stretch for a pope. It isn't even at odds with Trump from 2015-2025.
If he shows the same energy for Newscum he'll have credibility. If he remains silent he'll be a partisan hack.

I'm Catholic and have been all my life. The Pope should stick to religious matters and leave the politics to those elected into power. The higher ups in the Catholic religion lost some credibility during the abuse to alter boys fiasco.

Wow, and some claim this is Christ's church.

Yes.

You mean those like himself? He was elected into power.

Imagine thinking attacking the Catholic Church is a winning strategy for the right

You may have that backwards.

Not taxing at all, pretty easy to back the only true religion but also disagree with the political leadership and nonsense. The church should return to a more Latin mass and should keep politics out of it.

Pope has yet to criticize Iran for murdering 10s of thousands of it’s own citizens. All I need to know about this Pope.

Why, I won’t apologize for being Catholic. The Pope is just another person with opinions and you know what they about opinions. He’s wasn’t ordained by God but picked by people that have faults just like me and he’s prone to making bad decisions just like me. I couldn’t care less for the institution, the ideals are good enough for me.

We don't get a vote. Any Christian who thinks they know/determine who gets into heaven is condemning themselves.

quote:Yes. They basically teach that everyone is accountable to the light of nature that they have, and that if someone is faithful to the tradition they grew up and lived with (Islam, Buddhism, etc.), then there is a possibility for salvation for them even without faith in Jesus as their Savior.
Can people who aren't Catholics, make it in to Heaven? According to Catholics, can jews and Muslims make it into Heaven?
Protestants who are faithful to their traditions and also ignorant of Catholicism can also have hope of Salvation, too.
However, Protestants who have studied what the Catholic church teaches, and willfully reject it should have no hope of salvation.
That means that I--a faithful Presbyterian (conservative kind)--who trusts in the Lord Jesus Christ completely for the forgiveness of my sins, serves my church, worships God consistently (two services each week) according to what I believe He commands, gives to the church at least 10% of my earnings, who gives counsel to the hurting, who shows love to those in despair, who helps the widow, the elderly, the orphan, who raises my children in the fear and instruction of the Lord, who witnesses to the lost the gospel of Jesus Christ, and who seeks to do all good works that are pleasing to the Lord according to my understanding in faith and repentance for sin, have a lesser chance at going to Heaven than the sincere Muslim, because I have spent many years studying the Roman Catholic church and reject it. The only hope I have is to become a Catholic, because I reject the "true faith".
ETA:
I should add that even through what I said should be the logical conclusion of their various decrees, they may still hold that I can go to Heaven because the form of rejection I hold to is some form of non-culpable ignorance. I don't know how that is the case, but canon law has a lot of loopholes, apparently, even through it's supposed to be infallibly clear.

It was Divine Mercy Sunday this past weekend. I went to confession, received an indulgence for going to Mass on Divine Mercy Sunday, and it may have been perpetual, but it was at least partial! I say a good week!
While I don't like the back-and-forth between Leo and Trump, it doesn't really affect my day-to-day life unless I choose to let it.
Also, didn't 60 Minutes release a video saying that conversions into the Catholic Church are up?

Agree.
But I would also argue that starting a pissing match with Trump was a dumb move by Leo.

As if we don’t have actual problems in this country that our POTUS could devote this bandwidth too.
