My mom worked for 40-plus years with a public school hs diploma. No associate's, no bachelor's. I had to repay every cent of my student loans on a BA.

Meanwhile, this 130-pound jagoff Karmelo can't make it through HS without killing somebody.

The poster RFK said a few days ago: I can't believe the amount of hate this kid's getting.

Because all he had to do was sit in an air-conditioned classroom in Frisco, Texas, without trying to act like a fake badarse and killing someone. And he couldn't even manage that for 18 years.

I couldn't believe this was true so I looked it up:

Yea that’s sad. Gives you insight to how terrible his first 17 years probably were.

He made a terrible mistake and then ran away crying. When he was arrested he was sobbing and admitted to his crime.

The hate against this kid is astounding to me.

Bill Clinton said we all be a lot happier if “we just listened to each other.”

I agree with this.

Why would he bring a knife? He planned on using it.

RFK would be singing a different song if it was his son that was murdered by Karmelo.

I lived in Frisco for 33 years.. This kid went to Centennial HS, where my kids graduated from. This kid lived in at least a 400K home. There are no ghetto areas in this HS district. Frisco is a bubble, very wealthy town. I can assure you that this kid did not have a troubled 17 years of life, he had more luxury than 75% of other black kids. So don't believe any sob story for troubled kid. That's like saying someone who grew up in Beverly Hills, had a troubled life and was poor.

Until a few years ago he lived in Baton Rouge, so maybe he wasn't as privileged as you seem to imply, but it does add some credence to the saying, "You can take the boy out of the hood but you can't take the hood out of the boy."

It wasn't a random he cant control his emotions action. It was planned. Metcalf may not of been his planned victim, but somebody was. He created the chaos and had his weapon ready to go. More like a shooting spree culprit than a temper issue.

The entire situation is sad.

The fact Metcalf is dead is sad.

The fact Mellow will now spend his adult life in prison and one more life is “lost” is sad.

The fact there are issues at play that led to him not having a father in the house is sad.

The fact he felt the need to carry a knife is sad.

I’m just taking stock of the unfortunate nature of the entire situation. It was all needless, but the hate doesn’t help.

You can decry what he did and also have compassion for him. This is what the Bible teaches, actually.

Karmelo’s parents seem borderline retarded. He doesn’t seem very bright either.

We as a society need to hate stuff like this more. It’s the only thing that may prompt corrective action. “Listening” to people who engage in antisocial behavior hasn’t done anything except encourage more antisocial behavior.

While you're at it take stock in the fact it's people who think like you who are enabling all that bullshite.

You really want to be sad? Look into a mirror dude

Some of these posts step beyond what we actually know of this individual kid. It's a bad enough situation without piling assumptions and stereotypes on top. It was a stupid impulsive decision with horrible consequences. Those attempting to justify it, including KA's parents, as well as left-wing politicians and press, are doing no one any good. Neither are those who are trying to make this more than it warrants.
