Is Arch Manning the only white American at UT? It’s nothing like his old neighborhood on Webster Street.

Students who are Texas residents make up 80.5% of all students, while another 10.2% are from outside of Texas, representing 48 other U.S. states and the District of Columbia. International enrollment of 5,140 is down 1.7% from 2024 and comprises 9.3% of all students. Among undergraduates, 10,030, or 22.6%, are first-generation students.

That ain’t exactly soccer they cheering for. As intelligent as they are they still wipe their arse with their hands and revere cows as a god. Well that’s before they become your latest doctor or coding champion

International enrollment of 5,140 …. So they live and then commute from a state outside of Texas every day?

I mean, if there’s a bright side, they certainly seem to be embracing the national/regional culture here.

quote:

Texas classifies dependents of non-immigrant workers as resident students if they graduate from a Texas high school.

International students are only those who enter the US, specifically to study.

What we are seeing here are second and third order effects of a broken immigration system with gaps in state policy layered on.

Texas must prioritize legislation requiring all non-citizens be classified as international students for admission and tuition purposes.

I hope they aren't relying on a lot of walk on's from the student body.
