It was said that if eliminated affirmative action it would mostly benefit women and minorities. Men already were being given a break at the admissions office so the schools would not become too female.]

About the Asians, many many people said "ok, take it all away, but Harvard and places like that will become 100 percent Asian because those kids work like madmen to get into schools like that".

To me this seems like its happening because of the elimination of DEI and AA in many school admissions and this is the result.

Conservatives have supported legal immigrants that assimilate for at least 100 years in the US (when the modern concept of "conservative" developed)

You're describing some weird hyper-minority xenophobic/racist viewpoint and trying to gaslight people into promoting the lie this isn't some new thing.

In an 1835 letter he wrote that “the best interests of the United States require that Texas should be effectually, and fully, Americanized, that is, settled by a population that will harmonize with their neighbors on the East, in language, political principles, common origin, sympathy, and even interest.”

Austin spent years recruiting the Old Three Hundred and later waves of settlers. They were Anglo American families from Tennessee, Kentucky, Missouri, Louisiana, Alabama and the rest of the southern and western United States. He insisted on people of “unblemished character,” industrious habits, and shared American origins. He called the entire project “Americanizing Texas.”

Historians still use the term Anglo Texas for the society he founded.

Guessing the opinions of dead people from a long time ago are about to become irrelevant to the conversation

S.F. Austin was the founder of Austin, not the father of Texas. This dude named Sam Houston is the father of Texas.

I’m a conservative and vote republican. This thread makes me feel being conservative doesn’t mean family values, raise your kids right, respect others values.

This thread tells me that conservatives means hatred and jealousy towards others. This is no different than far left liberals. I voted Trump but if this is what’s going to be majority of conservatives, we are doomed.

Biggest issue in today’s America is lack of work ethic, parents willingness to push their kids to higher standards. Iron sharpens Iron. Competition is good.

Texas has a law that the top 5% of each Texas high school graduating class is automatically admitted to UT. What does the top 5% of most high schools look like these days? Mostly Asian, and that includes Indians. Why do you think a bunch of the Ivy League and California schools started discriminating against Asians? Because they would rather have blacks than Indians. Let's face it, Asians are mostly 2-parent households that really push studying and academics over sports or any other extracurricular activity.

This was good up until this point

That was DEI because the left doesn't consider Asians minorities. Their irrationality means that "minority" only applies to Latinos and black people.
