However, as head of the RCC, I would assume he should feel free to comment (diplomatically) on policies that touch on Christian morality.

He did this by defending Dick Durban who has supported late term abortion for over two decades. Also came dangerously close to uttering the disgusting and cliched "Jesus was a refugee" falsehood in regards to Trump's immigration policy.

Tired of seeing conservative Catholics hold out hope that this guy is on our side. He's a lifelong Chicago social liberal.

See I am proof that we do not worship the pope.

I think this is something Protrestants say. That is Catholics worship the pope or worship Mary or proclaim bread and water are turned to the body and blood.

I don't worship the pope.

He literally just commented on global warming by praying over a chunk of ice and then he negged Trump and Vance late last week by commenting on how divisive they are.

It sure is summer like here in East Texas. Makes one wonder??

The Pope is taking the high road. Good on him. He doesn't want to alienate a large part of Catholics over politics. The Church needs parishioners to donate, alienating a large part of them would be a bad play.

^^This^^.

The Vatican/Catholic Church is feeling a financial pinch.

If he could take a swipe at American politics (from behind his walled enclosure) without losing donations he would.

We will not withhold giving donations to the church based on a proclamation of the pope on any given say. I call that a maturity in decision making.

He is wise to avoid commenting on American politics. He'll please half the people and enrage the other half.

A Private thinking he knows more than the general.....you'll continue to be a low level noncom.

There's a reason he's Pope and you are sitting in your rented double wide playing on the computer.

"How dare you criticize our dear leader. You should be a mindless sheep like me."

It's hilarious you think people become pope because they are qualified, not because they have played the right game for years.

All the proven corruption in the Vatican over the years and you people still blindly follow them. It's amazing how little most people think.

In a sense yes

But:

1) He is technically a Head of State as well as a religious leader

2) There are many issues that are both "religious" and "political" that he cannot avoid discussing

I will keep praying for him to change his heart or possibly resign early like Benedict so someone more courageous and true to the Church can step in. The RCC really needs better leadership.

The Church is rife with diabolical actors and lefties, I´m worried we´ll never see a proper Pope for quite some time.

What is 'not Catholic' about this particular Pope?

A religious leader that doesn't get involved in the affairs of state?

A CATHOLIC religious leader at that?

He's bucking hundreds of years of tradition by concentrating on spiritual matters and not governmental ones.

More churches need to focus on Christ and spiritual matters than what's on cable news.

Throughout history there have been bad popes and good popes
There are likely a good number of popes in hell

It’s still God’s true, original Church. He will use the Church as he needs, and the gates of hell will not prevail

Example: During Francis, the interest in tradition, TLM, and people getting deep in to the true teachings of the Church went up exponentially, especially with younger Catholics and new converts.

The downside is all the people who are mistakenly misguided by the confusing and sometimes blatantly heretical comments from the Vatican. This is downright scandalous, if not diabolical and is leading people away from Salvation.

God always has a way of even using the bad for good. Like when he hardened Pharoa’s heart or when he let Satan enter into Judas.

That’s slavish thinking. We are free men; we have no generals ordering us about.

This is the same dude that was blessing of piece of ice or rock or whatever right? I am sure that backlash had nothing to do with this comment I agree with him though he needs to stay out of all politics.

Except he's not. These stories are all from the past week. Your Pope is a woke leftist cuck who abhors your worldview.

He was all about being up in our biz, kvetching about "The US should welcome and pay for the illegals."

When asked how many he wanted at the Vatican, he shut his pie hole and doesn't want to get in our politics.
