Oh, so when you only look at white kids? And there is no way this could possibly be seen as evidence of systemic racism. It's because melanin and intellect have an inverse relationship, right?
No matter how woke a state is, black kids can’t fricking read, en masse.
No matter how much money the black populace is in a country, they can’t read.
No matter how isolated they are from the effects of evil whitey, they can’t read.
I don’t know (or care) why or if this is connected to “melanin”. I do know that the single biggest correlating factor for how successful a state/country/city is in the education sector is “how many/few black people do you have in your numbers”. More than money spent, staff attributes, attention given. Just “do you have a lot or a little”.
You can read all that and blame everyone else and scream racism. But that is probably precisely why it’s so ever present and acute. Accountability.

This is pretty close to what Biden said back when he was campaigning with Obama, so it can't be racist to say it. Only Republicans are racist, you know.
"There's less than one percent of the population of Iowa that is African American. There is probably less than four of five percent that are minorities. What is in Washington? So look, it goes back to what you start off with, what you're dealing with," Biden told the Washington Post at the time.

Probably so.
Colorado is ranked #5 and honestly the school systems here seem to me to be about the same as Georgia's was.

58 if you're counting Greenlandia.

Wyoming and Utah say you should cry more

I'm glad LA and MS are rising; but TN as the smartest place in the SEC? bullshite!

Tennessee schools outside Memphis are pretty dang good. That's why Tennessee has the best job market in the South.

I don’t know why conservatives repeat this line. It’s simply not true.
It simply is.
Be careful though. Don't just compare whites in one state to whites and another state. That's a different question. Do I have to spell that one out?

It’s not. And it’s a retarded take.

Oh I think you proved yourself wrong there.

Nope.
Sorry. I realize it's accepted wisdom but it's just not true. Every single thing you could possibly point to has an easy confounding variable that addresses it. There's really nothing particularly special about teachers and schools in most places. The overwhelming factor in student achievement is the same as it has always been. The student population.

Awesome that Louisiana is not even close to their historical place of last in the country.

Damn MS in the top 30 is something
Unlike a ton of States, Mississippi schools all opened in August of 2020 during covid and never closed again (I think with the exception of a few in the delta)

Now you have subtly but very importantly shifted your original argument completely.

The demographic contrast between 50, 51 and 52, on the one hand, and 49, on the other, is stark.
Various reddish/brown populations of “native” descent v. shoeless white/blue hillbillies.

Kentucky, Mississippi and Tennessee are ranked higher than California, NY, Oregon and Michigan. Yet for years those bastards called us white trash and hillbillies. Called red states dumb.
Look who is rising and who is falling.

Michigan and Oregon talk a lot of shite to be in the bottom 1/4 of the nation.
