Do the New Mexico indians not give a shite about education?
I can tell you the Oklahoma Indians don't. They're given Indian welfare subsidies from the cradle to the grave and while the tribes try to encourage education, the people don't care.
And because of that, I don't care either. We can be last place and I dont care as long as my taxes are low as shite. frick it.

Probably one of the biggest ongoing political lies are discussions of State rankings in education. It's like everybody pretends they don't know the obvious. Everybody knows that if you take a good white school from somewhere in Mississippi and compared to a good white school from somewhere in Minnesota you get basically the same results. Everybody knows that if you compare two schools that are 40% black between somewhere like Georgia and Massachusetts you get basically the Facebook results.
The differences are barely worth even discussing

Have a conversation with anyone from BAHS-tun and tell me how they're #1 in education....

How is this happening in La and Ms? Who has the cheat code?

I think some of it is actually effects from Covid. Some of the more blue areas really did a number on kids and they haven't recovered from that 1.5-2 years of lost education.

That will be their cope for the next two decades- "covid was especially hard for people of color"

Not just covid. I'm wondering what the effects of flooding illegalsbthat can't speak English into the school systems. A bunch of dead fricking weight.

That is actually legitimately a possible scneario

For reading, I think they went to a phonics based system

The res is the closest thing we have in America to hell on Earth
I seethat you have also took a distance learning course on NAS Core Curriculum - Indigenous Theories & Methods from the University of Oklahoma.

I read an article in the WSJ about 30 years ago regarding a small tribe in Florida, I think its the one who now owns a piece of Hard Rock. They thought the gambling etc would be a boom to their tribe. One of their elders said it had been a disaster.
They took in the money, paid operating expenses, set aside money for capital projects and then took what was left over and paid as dividends to each member who was 50% or more of that tribe. It had been running about 60 plus thousand for each person for years.
He pointed out one 25 year old woman as an example. 5 kids, 3 different dads, drug habit, uneducated, unemployed, and collecting about 370K tax free.

And Cali and other "blue" states are rejecting these reforms.

I know for South Carolina the state scores parallel the schools that need interpreters while teaching. The score plummet when that is the case, seems no one can figure that one out.

Oregon’s ranking is insane.
Ridiculous mismanagement of resources.

This is correct.
If you go through the curriculum that was used to teach reading to millions of our children, you would lose your mind.
“Look at the picture.” “Guess at the word.”
It’s so ridiculous that you would think it’s part of a Marxist plot to destroy the country.

I don’t know why conservatives repeat this line. It’s simply not true.

Is there any literature trying to justify that system?
I'm a phonics baw so I agree with you on the teaching strategies. I'm just curious how they came up with the system you discussed and what they use to justify it
