I know, but they're still yours. You still support them.

I'm almost 40. I can't imagine having a newborn right now. I'm too damn tired to clean the fricking kitchen after dinner and get the kids to bed already. No way could I handle household duties, work, raising two growing kids, AND a newborn right now.

This!

42 here, just spent a few days babysitting two grandbabies... wore me slap out! Child rearing should definitely be done sooner rather than later.

It's just not THAT bad and it's way easier when you have money to throw at problems

You've got more perspective, you probably panic less, you might have more flexibility/autonomy/authority in your career, and most people have more money.

I don't think it's the ideal, but I agree, in some ways it's probably easier than trying to figure it out when you're 25 and terrified of your boss and still pretty stupid and poor.

I think part of the recent trend is due to COVID. That took a few years to recover from. We wanted to have another before COVID but was concerned about financial responsibility and then COVID + other life events. We felt that the window passed us by, but the past two years we have had regrets and are currently doing IVF treatments. We thought about it hard but realized that our children will embrace helping with the baby/toddler, we are able to hire a night nurse to help out so we can sleep, and we are financially secure.

When money no longer became an issue, it all made sense to at least try. I love being a father.

I'm 45, she is 39.

PSA, Greg Gutfeld just had a baby and he is 60 years old.

Pros and cons to waiting.

Definitely more stable, financially and emotionally.

But, you raise the child in your 50's.

Either way, I can see both sides.

Is it mostly 40+ teachers getting knocked up by teen students?

If it was money or educational differences you'd be crying racism, not sure why all of a sudden you don't care about racial despairities. I mean I do, but I'll be nice and pretend I don't.

This is what bums me out about having our last baby at 39. He wasn't planned, but having him has made me prioritize my health because I need to be around to help him with his kids someday. I'd love to have one more (now, after we thought we were done after 2) but I know the clock is ticking.
.

We had an unplanned last child at 36

I feel your pain.

I’m not surprised.

Teachers taught 1/2 of millennials to be weird and gay.

The ones the teachers didn’t get, big pharma gave them the ‘tism like SFP.

I'm in a PhD program, too. I had the baby last semester (missed one week of classes) and I bring him to class with me on M and W nights.

Bringing a 6 month old to graduate classes is the height of selfishness. Other serious students are trying to learn while your infant is crying. They all tell you it’s okay to bring the baby and they are all lying to you. Check your privilege.

Gutfeld looks like he has aged 15 years since he returned from paternity leave. Somehow the skin under his arms started flapping around the last 2 months. Correlation?

I fathered a daughter at 40. She's great. It was fun watching her grow up as the baby of the family. She's been an easy teen too.

The federal government’s role is limited to powers explicitly granted or reasonably implied, with all else left to states or individuals.

What do you think the government exists for?

Coin money, national defense, make laws, enforce laws, foreign policy, international diplomacy, maintain border security. It is not responsible for paying for daycare. Parents are responsible for that.

What the dumbass you are replying to doesn't realize is if it is mostly white women doing it, that probably means most black women don't have the option to, which if you followed typical leftist reasoning (only done when it suits the leftist, obviously), means that black women don't have the same opportunities to delay childbearing!!!!!! Oh noes!

If we stay blind about the racial breakdowns we simply won't know the reasons for them.
