This is now the story

This cover/talking point is beyond idiotic

Wow, they really brought in those knuckleheads for this? I wonder who made that decision.

Somewhere down the road I may melt about it myself but it seems premature today.

Some of the disappointed may be due to the free beer tomorrow stuff.

It’s getting old.

Lucy keeps taking the football away from the kick attempt at the last moment.

Bingo!
The request for Epstein files appears to be a rat trap.

Yeah, I've been a little out of pocket during this mini civil war.

If that was Scavino's call, I expect better from him. I thought he is more savvy than this.

At the same time, I’ll probably diverge from others and withhold making any final proclamations and instead hold off to see what happens in these coming days.

The broader problem is that what the Trump admin has been doing since taking office is in effect a soft coup. I know that term makes people butthurt, but what I mean by that is that they are legitimately trying to overthrow the entrenched power structures via mass firings and funding cuts with vehement opposition from the previous regime.

In order for this to work, it has to continue at a rapid pace, and it relies heavily on seemingly trivial things like momentum and sentiment/vibes. He can continue doing more or less what he wants as long as it feels right and seems like it’s making real change. People love a winner and will side with the stronger horse instinctively.

Yesterday’s stunt was the first real blunder against this model. It weakened the morale of his troops. What is particularly egregious is that it was unnecessary.

Things like this are a bigger deal than they would be in a true transitory government, because they are trying to establish something approaching real regime change. They can’t afford to do stuff like this.

So you all ignore the obvious.

If the administration's rep on this aka Bondi says she has the stuff then does not release it, how can anyone not know why that is?

Okay, I'll be Mr. Obvious here, the unreleased info would embarrass said administration.

The MAGA base has been promised a feeding frenzy. The sharks are circling. The plan is to throw some fresh chum in the water on a daily basis.

It has not been proven yet what, if anything, the FBI in the SDNY withheld, or why the USA in the SDNY (directly under Bondi) didn't have it.

But it has been proven that the FBI has some deep, institutional problems that have been there for a long time.

That's been proven, right? It's not just a BS NPC talking point, right?

I don't think the files are the story they're probably isn't anything all that significant in them.

The story now is the outright insubordination of the SDNY.

The only reason you believe this is because that twat of a blonde who coughed up empty binders and made herself look like a fricking nitwit told you so.

Could not agree more. Total unforced error.

Democrats trying to slow down the Trump train really got "lucky" with Bondi words and actions.

You make a really good point. It makes no sense.

But I supposed the counter argument is that the Epstein “dog and pony show” is just being used to divert media attention from problems with their other efforts.

Things like the economy, DOGE, trade wars/tariffs, which take a back seat to scandal.
