Maybe they can trade them in for a decent Toyota.
Aah, but the brahmin said, "If Buddha put claws on the tiger, he put wings on the dove."
I remember Howard Schnellenberger showing up in Norman and predicting under his coaching OU would win multiple national championships.
There was a story I always wondered if it were true about Mrs. Schnellenberger soon after they arrived in Norman, how she went into Target to stock up and was quite surprised and indignant to learn that the wife of the coach of the Oklahoma Sooners was expected to pay for things at local stores.
Then there was the DUI, at what point in his short career at OU did that occur?

Night games like that happened twice in Memorial Stadium that I know of, 1983 vs. nebbish and 2008 vs tech. There was the Game of the Century on Thanksgiving Day, 1971 vs nebbish but it was much smaller venue, sold out but still just 63,000 or so.
Now it's never a dull moment.

Marcus Dupree's cousin leaving OU.
Maybe he'll get picked up by Tech.

Let's ratchet things up a bit, suggest names for these new battlewagons.

If they had drawn the Rose Bowl they would have been screwed.
I think it is better for them than Oregon to play in the Orange.

Tried to give him a lap dance but Karoline wouldn't let her.
I am looking forward to it and given my total disdain for all things related to Duck U. I am all in on Tech.

Oklahoma is 6--2 in Sugar Bowls.
Texas fans can point to the 1949 game and OU's QB was Darrel Royal.
Sooners went 1-1 in games against Saban.

Without specifying I identified 2 crucial mistakes by Mateer that resulted in momentum swings, the special teams failures the others which IMO equaled from 16-20 points.
The pick 6 was obviously bad but when he did not run for a first down, the offense needed what, 3 yards and he had what looked like 20 yards of open field in front of him was costly.

Pete looked like he was about to start a dynasty yesterday.
Venables looked like that after a quarter manhandling the tide.
Remember, Ole Miss had a 9-point lead in the 4th versus Georgia and got skunked 17-0.

If you are a serious bettor have I got a deal for you.
Every week ask me who my picks are and don't ever put money on any of them.
I seem to have a real knack at picking losers.

re: Time for a group of 5 playoff.

After what we saw with Tulane and JMU there will be discussion about a separate playoff.
The thing is the FBS has expanded to 136 teams and there's a reason all these schools want to play at the top tier, the money.
Let's face it, the top teams need those G5's for the OOC games and the extra practice albeit under game conditions.
The G5's welcome the payoffs and exposure despite the losses.
This year the CFP felt letting them in was part of the bargain but we all saw how that played out so back to the drawing board.
Give the G5's something worth playing for and they will go along with it.
It's why they are here in the first place.

All the G5 teams need to be in the same bracket and play each other first.
Whichever one advances from that can then get stomped in the quarters or the semis preferably by the top seed as an added bonus.

Oregon. What have they ever won?
I'll answer that one.
Oregon won Nike.
I don't respect Oregon.
Puts you way ahead of me. I positively HATE Oregon.

Reread the game thread, those first 30 pages or so had Alabama fans whining and wailing.
They are fortunate to have a coach who kept his head and figured out how to slow down the Sooner offense and getting his offense on track.

Whatever point the OP had in mind is not what I saw yesterday.
I believe Sooner fans know their team got beat soundly and it had nothing to do with the refs.
Alabama fans should appreciate what DeBoer did, after the 1st quarter HE MADE ADJUSTMENTS and turned things around
THAT is good coaching.

From the Tide perspective it was an incredible game, coming back after a horrendous 1st quarter.
The Sooner special teams had been a huge part of the second half of the season 5-1 run and they completely tanked yesterday, something no one foresaw along with two crucial miscues by Mateer. Those two factors were responsible for a 16-20 point turnaround.
As far as the pregame chatter about DeBoer needing this game to keep his job, that is all now moot (FTR I didn't believe it).
The reward for beating OU is a spot in the Rose Bowl.
Love it.

So you are saying the teams in the SEC are no better than James Madison?
re: Alabama won. Haters let their tears flow in this thread.

I went back and reviewed the game thread through about page 30.
You'd have thought Alabama was on par with Tulane and James Madison and I am talking about the posts from the tide fans.
It was brutal, you'd think they had never trailed in a game before.
They were giving their coaching staff no mercy, no benefit of the doubt, no hope at all, they wanted DeBoer gone right after the final gun.
That to me is what makes the SEC so difficult to play in, the over-the-top fickle fan bases.
That us Sooner fans don't turn on OUr coach at the first sign of adversity is considered a huge character flaw and we are undeserving of being in the sacred SEC.
Yeah, I'd rather have Oklahoma won last night but I am not on suicide watch because of it and looking at the season as a whole, 10-3 is kinda good, don't you think?
