re: Hey OU

Apparently you stole some land from the Indians once.

If you want to talk history let's review how all those Indians came to be in Oklahoma in the first place because it sure as hell wasn't where they were living a scant 50 years before.

A fellow by the name of Andrew Jackson directed the U.S. Army to escort them from their native land (the East Coast and the Southern U.S.) to an unsettled area surrounded by Kansas, Arkansas and Texas.

Their land was stolen long before they ever laid eyes on what became the state of Oklahoma.
Dixie I guess your idea of what constitutes a "miracle" is bit more . . . expansive than mine.

From what I saw Mateer threw a pass from just inside the Sooner 35-yard line and hit Sategna in stride about the LSU 23 which he ran in untouched for the TD that decided it.

It's in the books as a 58-yard reception for a touchdown.

Yeah it was a long ball but the only thing remarkable about it was the busted coverage by the defense that let Sategna run a route with no one on him.

For the day OU had close to 400 yards total offense which kept the tigers bottled up on their end of the field most of the game.

It wasn't a miracle that beat them, it was a stingy defense and the offense making plays when it had to.
Will Stein, OC from Oregon

How much of that NIKE money does he get to bring with him?

I have to think that had a little bit to do with his success there, don't you?
FTR, Alabama beat the same three teams so Deboer and Venables share the title.
3 top 15 wins . . . Better than any team in the country.

The problem is, before the season started when they set down the criteria to make the CFP, no one bothered to include this.

If they had Texas would be right there at the top of the list of teams to get into the CFP.

The fact is at the end of the regular season someone had to look at all the team's schedules and results to find this tidbit.

It is interesting, no doubt, perhaps even a stat the Committee will take note of but in and of itself means nothing to anyone outside of Austin, TX.

Wrangler, what you and the rest of orange faithful are railing against is a system that is flawed, always has been and no matter the number of teams, the format or the selection process there is controversy over who got in and who was left out.

This year it appears your team will be out though who knows what'll happen tomorrow or next weekend?

I don't begrudge all the whining and gnashing of teeth, it's to be expected when a fan base perceives they've been treated unfairly.

So open the window, stick your head outside and as loud as you can shout, "I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take this anymore!"

we've been completely gutted today

Now you have some idea how Sooner fans felt four years ago this past week.

We didn't get a lot of sympathy either.

From the ashes of the fire FULR set by sneaking around and leaving the program in shambles the Sooners have fought and clawed their way back to regain some measure of respect in the world of college football.
Excerpt from The Ballad of Lane Kiffin

Well I barely made the airport for the last plane out
As it taxied down the runway, I could hear the people shout
They said "Don't come back here Kiffin"
But if I ever do, I'll bring some tigers
Cause all I want to do is play
And go all the way
Can't take the heat
'Fraid I'll get beat
I want more money Woo
Want better players Woo
And all I want to do is, all I want do is play
Will he leave the stuffed bear wearing an Ole Miss cheerleader get up?
It would make a heckuva 30 for 30, winning without the coach who got em there.
They probably had some choice comments about the team from "the other place".
Beating three tigers in a season we can call it the Tony Award.
youre being dishonest

I believe the word you are looking for is ignorant.

menu2 apparently missed seeing that Tech is playing for in the Big XII CCG next week against a team it put a beatdown on earlier this season.

The red raiders averaged 38 ppg in conference play. Their lone loss was at Arizona State who went 8-4.

TT recorded 2 shoutouts, held Utah (10-2) to 10, Houston (9-3) to 11 and BYU (11-1) to a touchdown.

Can;t glean much from their three OOC games except the results would inflate their scoring average.

I consider them the darkhorse in the CFP.
Saban . . . doesn’t care about screwing ole miss over

Or maybe it's from personal experience after what happened when he didn't allow Kiffin to OC for him in the National Championship game which bama lost.
For as bad as OU was on offense today, its 393 total yards

Strange isn't it?

Everyone dunkin on the Sooner offense that put up that many yards which did not translate into a lot of points but kept the tiges on their end of the field most of the day.

The 2025 Sooners are like Harley Quinn, they are known to be quite vexing.

Just like that.. it’s over

Given that I look forward to college football all year long the title of this thread brought tears to my eyes.

Loved your short concise analysis and report card style grades.

This post rates an A+.
Nick let Kirby coach the playoffs but not Lane

But then we saw Nick Saban arguing for Ole Miss to allow Kiffin to coach them into the post season, at least for the CCG if not the CFP.
