They should put the names of all the portal players in a hopper and the schools put up money everytime they want to draw one, they get the player and the player gets the school's drawing fee.
Everyone abides by the results.
After a year or two of this I expect the portal will calm down a lot.

So Texas kicked Parker Livingstone to the curb to convince Cam Coleman to pick them.
Here's his farewell to UT.
"Never in a million years did I think I would be going into the portal looking for a new home. Some things are out of my control. Such is the reality of the ever-changing landscape of college football. Emptied my tank every day for this great university, my teammates, & all of the good folks of Texas. Grateful."
Doesn't sound like someone who wanted to leave.
Way to take care of your own, Sark.

re: Is There Anything That Could Stop Someone From Straight Buying a Championship?

. . . Buying a Championship
The New York Yankees did it many times as did other teams to a lesser extent.
The NFL went to a salary cap model with the 1994 season, currently up to $279.2 million/team.
Go back far enough I bet you will find the Romans outspent the barbarians.
Buy a championship has withstood the test of time and will continue as long as the rules allow.

Gene Hackman is dead, Brad Pitt is too pretty and Matthew McConaughey is a "no way, Jose" so idk who would play Cignetti.
The best sandwich of all, the Patty Melt using Thousand Island dressing though Russian dressing will do in a pinch.
Is Mateer in the portal?

The Duke's Mayo Bowl, the only bowl game ever where the coach of the winning team gets doused by a big bucket of . . . mayonnaise (and how many of you knew how to spell it before I showed you, hmmm?).
If there's a push to expand the CFP to 16 teams and include the Pop Tarts Bowl as one of the January 1 playoff games then this one should be considered second followed by the Holiday Bowl and then the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl (lowest seeded teams playing there, of course).

He’ll be the bama coach in 2 years.
Dream on.
Dream on.
Dream until your dreams come true.

That 4th down call was just plain foolishness.
Left at least 1 point on the field, possibly 4.
It does compound the mistake of going for 2 earlier since they are now two scores down instead of one.
Now this is a game!
How much better college football would be if only all the teams had to pay attention to the message boards and do what the posters told them.
You are kidding, right?
Alabama beat themselves.
They didn't run, they switched QB's, they failed to score, all classic bama miscues.

Nice catch.
Scored on every possession is a helluva stat.
let’s hope that all the kids have lots of fun!
There was a post over on Surly following Sarkisian's first time to face OU in the Cotton Bowl (OU 55 UT 48).
As texas was coming out of the tunnel at the start of the game Sark told his players to "have fun".
The poster said in that moment he knew the horns were screwed.

As if his input is all it would take to turn what we saw tonite into a contender.
The fun isn't over, we got the Mayo Bowl tomorrow.
Should have built the wall.
Would Mexico pay for it?
