Funny you say trolling, because thats what it feels like all the right leaning social justice warriors are trying to do in this thread complaining about artwork in an airport.
Thanks for the heads up guys, I'll make sure to turn my outrage way up next time I run through the international terminal and find a piece of artwork from africa in there.

So I have my hotel paper and sit down at my gate and there is a yout next to me and an older fella. The yout asks me if I am through with the sports pages, I pull them out to hand them to him and he reaches out from under his coat on his lap and he has handcuffs on.
I look at him, then the older fella shows me his US marshall badge and says Jimmy and I are heading back to Atlanta. Jimmy has been a very bad boy and Jimmy is going away for a long time. I looked at Jimmy, he shrugged and smiled.

Between 1979 and 1981, 29 young black boys (adolescents) were murdered. Everyone was looking for the racist white man who was out killing all these young black children. There are still people around here who are upset that the murderer, Wayne Williams, didn't fit the narrative they had offered.
Thats a weird rant to go off on. The main reason people are upset is that no one has ever been charged with murdering any of those 29 victims. Not even Wayne Williams, who was convicted of murdering 2 adults.
The Atlanta police force was still predominately white when those murders were being investigated. Since no.one was ever charged, then, yeah, there are questions.

First off, we aren't advocating at all for any "social justice". We are advocating for America, not any 1 particular part or group of Americans. Now if you want to call us "American Justice" warriors, ok i guess. Calling people on the right SJW is just lazy.

African artwork isn't at the international terminal. It's in the underground travel way where the people movers and shuttles are. Mr. seasoned world traveler know it all.

Like Trump said, it’s a shite hole. Graffiti, gangs, terrible streets. I worked downtown a long time, glad I never have to go back!

The message you want is the message you’ll get.
Same with me.
Same with me.

My younger sister works for a company that services public transportation in all the big blue cities. This year she has been in Portland, Seattle, SF, Boston, Minneapolis to name a few. She does the same thing. Airport, hotel, meetings, hotel, airport and home. Rarely ventures out into the cities.

Yep. The best bet is to just stay in your hotel as much as possible if you’re being forced to visit one of these liberal cities. It’s a freaking war zone out there. Can’t even go get a pizza without getting shot at.

It is a token display. I assume you have no standards.
I have no idea what point you are trying to make here.
Am I a good judge of Zimbabwean art? No.
I can barely see why Rembrandt is supposed to stand out from other Dutch Masters of the period, but it doesn’t stop me from standing in awe in front of The Night Watch in the Rijksmuseum.
And, no, I am not equating these. I’m freely admitting that I (like 99% of this board) am not qualified to say what is “good” art.
I find it laughably sad that this board has become overrun with the stereotypes I railed against the media for claiming were the core of the new right.
“Art from Africa? This DEI stuff will kill us all unless Donald Jesus Trump saves us!”

More hysterics. Nobody is saying this.
Go back to Reddit where you belong.

You deny that there are replies in this thread drawing a line from this art to DEI and calling this a cultural war?

I must have missed "Indonesian Lives Matter".
Indonesia is the largest Muslim country in the world. Why would a display of Indonesian art not be triggering as a promotion of Islam?

Stop with the gaslighting. Nobody in this thread compared Trump to Jesus. You’re full of shite.

But I get what you're saying re: appreciation.
Obviously the Rembrandts are stunning.
But there was another artistin the museum, (starts w/ a "V", ?Vanderveer, Venmier?), whom I'd never heard of .... he was just brilliant. Picture after picture. Maybe because Rembrandt came first, the guy was under appreciated, but, you're right, given an artist-blinded choice, I might very well select that guy instead of a Rembrandt.
