I don't know much about this story other than she embarrassed herself a lot yesterday and I don't really have interest in looking into it more given how the press secretary is a worthless position for rational people.

Hey, we shouldn't mention informal fallacies in a thread with Slippin' Jimmy. You'll teach him something else to accuse people of for the next two weeks after he reads about what it means. He's already shown in this thread that he struggles with the definition of a question anyways.

She went to Pepperdine. She isn't dumb. She just never took a bar exam or practiced law in the US.

This. I’m beginning to suspect this lady graduated from law school but never passed a bar. In which case they may very well have a point. She needs to be careful about how she presents herself to the public.

It is either:
a. A dumb, unforce error to claim she was a "lawyer" without qualifying that she has never practiced law in the U.S. - much less been a GC for a non-profit; or
b. she actually did practice law without a license
Either way - she gets what she deserves.

I just read that Bar Complaint. If this lady is representing herself as being a lawyer, and she is not, then this is absolutely appropriate and faces whatever penalty California provides.
It doesn't matter what your political beliefs are. If a person holds themself out to be a lawyer, they have to be a lawyer. Otherwise it is a crime in all 50 states.
