We have no way of knowing if other galaxies have life. The light we currently see from them would be thousands/millions of years old and vice versa. So any planet/galaxy we currently see we are seeing how it looked how ever many light years away.
A galaxy 10,000 light years away would see no sign of intelligent life on earth.
Most people can’t comprehend the size of the universe.

I don’t think people believe there are millions of universes. Scientists estimate there are billions if not trillions of galaxies. Deep space telescopes (Hubble, James Webb) have shown the existence of more than previously thought.
