I am addressing you directly, again.

There is no logic in pretending that there is nothing wrong with how it’s been handled.

Hiding behind rhetoric while not preventing the spread of the virus IS the problem. It cannot be stated more clearly than that.

And I haven't met a person who thinks this is a hoax that isn't a Trump supporter. That's weird, right?

The OP had a clearly misleading post. And without any verification most people in this thread just took that as confirmation of their worldview that this is a hoax.

And don't get me wrong there are PLENTY of people overreacting. But that doesn't excuse irrational, unsupported claims from the other side.

So, you’re advocating for shutdowns with no basis. Got it.

Anyone claiming it’s a hoax is a retard

Both sides (Trump to some degree) are pretending like this virus will be here until the end of the year and we’ll magically have a vaccine for 350 million people

Absolutely no one is talking about how to live with this over the long term. Advocating for more shutdowns and closures is absurd. We can’t afford to just dump 5 trillion on a biannual basis to keep from having bread lines.

You DO understand that full ICU's ate a normal healthcare state and a constant non -Covid problem? Do you not?

It is still incredibly low in Texas and in Houston, specifically.

Another funny thing. There are apparently millions of experts on hospital capacity on Twitter. Nobody can explain how the situation is irregular because only the hospitals have that data.

While I do agree that the hysteria is ridiculous, at the beginning of the video, it shows that the case definition was changed on May 11. That wouldn't explain the recent uptick in cases.

I agree and not many are calling for more shutdowns. The most I have seen is public masking requirements. Which has a big chunk of "we have to do something!" to it.

But that is totally different than the "the numbers are made up" without really understanding what the numbers are.

Reminder the title of this thread is

Texas surge in Covid cases.....lies and deceit

A far better argument is to focus on how, despite rising cases (which are real) there seems to be no rising death toll.

Every big city mayor in Texas is calling for more shutdowns. I’d be the same is going on in Arizona and Florida.

Many stable covid patients are being kept in the ICU because it’s better for isolation.

And more money for the hospital...let's not forget about that.

What would you have done differently specifically?

I believe we opened up the state too early. Beaches, bars, clubs should have been closed prior to Memorial Day. Take out service for restaurants. Mandatory masks. So I pose the questions to you:

Do YOU think it has been handled correctly?

What do YOU think could’ve been done differently?

What do YOU think should be done going forward?

When would it have been safe to open? Please explain. And be thorough on what constitutes “safe.” Thanks.

Republican politicians better stand up for their positions or I’ll vote for any GOP challenger. I’m going to write Gohmert, Cruz and Cornyn and say as much. I need to see some fight in those guys. Job may not be as fun having to do this but sometimes you have to work a little harder.

I'd like to know how the count is done so rapidly every 24 hours with a state that has thousands of hospitals? My wife worked as an RN for 30 years and says statistics take at least 48-72 hours to get to a mainframe for registering data, so I too call BS!
