FLORIDA just reported 132 Covid related deaths today.
I assume the PCR test only detects live virus.

Exactly. Testing is not the problem. Hospitalizations and deaths are the problem.
It would be great news to see the mortality rate continue to decline with more testing.
However, if the deaths continue to increase - then that just means we have a lower percentage of a much larger denominator.

Good question - and is why we need more data about the antibodies.
Antibody detection requires a blood test from what I’m told.

re: @TXMedCenter reports FEWER ICU patients yesterday than on June 15th almost a month ago.

Please clarify - are you claiming the doctors at Houston Methodist are not to be believed because you say they are power hungry globalists perpetrating lies?
Dr. Faisal Masud, Director of Critical Care at Houston Methodist, gave an interview this weekend where he discussed what’s happening there. I’m sure you can find on social media if you want to hear it.
To summarize, he said that they still treat non Covid patients in the ICU in addition to Covid patients, so while they are not maxed out, they are Clearly in Phase 2 and are stretched thin on manpower and capacity.
So they are handling it now as best as possible, but the trajectory is what is most concerning and disturbing to him.

Yes! This would be great! Imagine how many people it would piss off if the POTUS encouraged people to wear masks, and actually wore masks himself! It would really show those LIBS who the BOSS is now!

Masks help prevent the spread. N95 masks are the most effective. Social distancing helps prevent the spread. Washing hands regularly helps. These are the things that we know.
So it all comes down to people believing that they can protect against the spread by being more careful and doing what they can.
Doctors in Houston are overworked and exhausted. They are saying that the public can make a difference in the spread of the virus.
If people choose to ignore what the doctors are saying, then that is intentional. Because the public has been informed.

Yeah. I don’t know if you are arguing that Covid is not contributing to this problem, or if you don’t think it’s a problem.
Speaking of noise...Harris County shut down testing sites today due to the heat.
Yes I think 2-3 weeks. And now we’ve got people dying in the ER without even getting a bed.
So yeah, we have to get the number of trending cases down.

2-3 weeks ago was when we saw the cases go up

16? Hmm that’s more than what I saw. Don’t like that direction.
So what was the death count for Harris County today, 7/10?
Have you seen the charts of some of the European countries that solved this? They were able to open schools without such spikes in cases.
Let me be more clear. I want to see the cases trending down consistently so that schools can open safely.
No need to misrepresent what my position is.
I just want whatever is best for schools to be open and fall sports to exist.
And it sounds like right now the current lack of a plan is preventing that from being possible.
