I don't eat at 'craft' bbq restaurants and I damn sure won't be eating at a place offer halal shite. Good luck to them.

You wouldn't know the difference between a smoked brisket that is halal, kosher or other. So you could say you won't, but how do you know you haven't already?

Middle eastern food is pretty awesome and has inspired quite a few dishes both here and in Mexico. Hell, my favorite Mexican dish is middle eastern. Anyone who has ever had al pastor loves it. Same with tacos arabes.
Now the whole halal thing, I don't have an opinion, but we all knew if they came here the free market would create it.

I don’t begrudge any one that likes any particular food.
I’m not a fan of many of their staples. Greek is out for me too.

I do like their skewered chicken. I eat some in CA from time to time. Not sure if they are officially halal.

Then you've never looked into what constitutes something being halal. Aside from what is literally the ritual sacrifice of the animal in the name of Allah (read: you are literally supporting Islam by eating halal BBQ), they have to have completely separate setups for halal and non-halal (including things like seasonings).
If they aren't lying about their halal infrastructure, they are going to be charging quite a bit more than your average BBQ joint unless they drop pork from the menu.

Well, I am from Lafayette. We will pretty much eat anything that doesn't eat us first and even then, there is gonna be a fight.
