Grahams passing got me thinking about term limits

I tend to favor limits in some positions and not in others.

You?

People dont want old fricks in Congress.

Truth but not bipartisan or any-partisan across congressmen and senators. They get to decide this and they'll never be ok with it unfortunately.

And yet, they keep electing them.

Yeah but there's no way that sort of legislation would pass.

Conveniently, they had no issue officially setting term limits for presidents.

That's because the voting public hates everyone else’s aged elected officials, but thinks their old fuk is still fighting for them.

Worth a try. But obstacles are everywhere and very powerful.
The leaders in politics and Industry are not in agreement with the vast majority of humans so what do they do out numbered and all?

No way anything gets passed, they aren’t going to limit their access to the trough of tax payer money and insider trading protection.

House and senate should have term limits.

In theory they are bad. Based on reality they are needed.

Could you imagine saying that someone can only be the head coach of a team for 8 years then they need to find another job or retire? Or we can't hire that coach because he's older than an arbitrary age set by someone 50 years ago. Of course coaches are held accountable for their success or lack there of.

If you really want to shake things up, get rid of the seniority system. I once had a guy tell me that he voted for Mary Landrue only because of her seniority and he didn't want the Louisiana senator to drop to the bottom of the totem pole.

Not true.
A convention of the states is only a couple states away. Term limits is the main issue.

Term limits USA

Fun fact: I was endorsed by these guys in my failed state rep bid 4 yrs ago.

I would dearly love to have them on everything but SCOTUS but even if the potentially term-limited were on board, (they're not and never will be), most of the positions outlined in the US Constitution also have specific requirements on eligibility. To my knowledge "fresh face" is not among them.

If you grandfathered in the filth in power and made it retro active to the current elected, it may pass. But the filth will never vote themselves less power.

Exactly. It's a voter issue, they refuse to solve themselves.
