Amos & Andy over here haven’t answered a single question. Just word salad, both body posturing, shifting of the eyes, stuttering anyone can tell they’re lying. Did the acting Sec. of Defense just admit they have zero capability to retrieve US citizens outside of the airport? Couldn’t answer why Bagram was abandoned? But they’re gonna circle back to us in a few days when there could be 1,000’s dead or captured American citizens. I know I’m being facetious here, but dumbfounded

This press conference did the exact opposite of giving me any reassurance that these guys can regroup and come up with a plan to get control of the situation.

Yeah HKIA only has one runway.
Bagram would have been so much better to use for this evac. However that would have depended on having a secure route to get everyone there. Judging from what we are witnessing, I have zero faith that could have been accomplished. The only solution would have been to get these people out weeks, if not months ago.

Milley and Austin are, in all likelihood, incompetent
But I do think they're not so subtly trying to convey that the WH is putting all their eggs in the state basket and that's part of the reason they have their hands tied.
If this persists, I won't be surprised to see some rank breaking, the IC is already hard at work trying to get the word out in their defense.
