South Carolina Stuns No. 16 Florida In Gainesville, Snaps SEC Losing Streak

South Carolina pulled off one of Saturday's biggest SEC upsets, taking down No. 16 Florida 38-19 at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium in Gainesville.

Quarterback LaNorris Sellers led the way for the Gamecocks, completing 23-of-35 passes for 279 yards and four touchdowns while adding another score on the ground.

Sellers connected with Nyck Harbor, Mazeo Bennett Jr., Donovan Murph, and Lex Cyrus for touchdowns as South Carolina snapped an eight-game SEC losing streak and picked up its first conference victory of the season.

The Gamecocks led 17-10 at halftime before taking control in the second half. After Florida cut the deficit to 17-13 early in the third quarter, South Carolina answered with 21 consecutive points to put the game away.

South Carolina finished with 393 total yards and committed no turnovers, while its defense forced three Florida turnovers.

The victory improved Shane Beamer's squad to 3-3 overall and 1-3 in SEC play. Florida dropped to 4-2 overall and 2-2 in conference action after suffering its second consecutive loss.
