President Trump now needs to call all the oil company CEOs to the White House. Tell them they’ve made enough money from Americans taking oil under our country, and direct that until further notice, they’re not allowed to sell gasoline for any more than $2.50/gallon.

Nobody here knows.
I do know that typically when you see reasonably competent people get into a crappy situation something didn't go how they thought it would. And if you don't see them trying to make changes to fix the crappy situation it's because they think their current options will make things worse.
