That’s not what he said.

I do agree we will probably be seeing a slightly higher percentage of white players. The emphasis on three pointers is giving white players more of an opportunity. Stephen A. needs to calm down a little though. It’s not the Lakers are going to have 12 white guys on the roster. They may have 3, possibly 4, starters.

What would happen if a television personality declared that a team couldn’t win because its best players were black?

Didn't Rush Limbaugh get excommunicated from the NFL when he uttered something about a black NFL quarterback?

quote:

"Sorry to say this, I don't think he's been that good from the get-go," Limbaugh
said. "I think what we've had here is a little social concern in
the NFL. The media has been very desirous that a black quarterback
do well. There is a little hope invested in McNabb, and he got a
lot of credit for the performance of this team that he didn't
deserve. The defense carried this team."

It's not just shooting 3s. Some of the best dunkers in the game are white guys, some of the best shooters, and some of the best big men. Black folks are losing their grip on the game overall and it drives some of them nuts. See what happens to Caitlin Clark. See what this a-hole just said. Etc etc. Etc.

The truth here does not hurt.

What hurts is white righties not being able to say the truth without the potential for it to negatively affecting our lives.

If a white guys says the same thing about a team can’t win because they have black players as their top players….. imagine the uproar. This shouldn’t be ok. ESPN should fine or put him on leave. They would fire the white guy if he made a remark towards blacks

You’re saying a starting player wasn’t prominent?

Ok.
Smith's comment was racist. But stick with the fact that it was a racist comment. Don't get sidetracked by a Celtics counterargument.

Smith did not say "3 prominent white players."

Smith said, "three top players" and "three most prominent players."

I'm not saying a starting player isn’t prominent. I'm pointing out that your argument is a strawman argument because it isn't what Smith said.

OK?

That is why I don't listen to sports talk programs anymore, and as a matter of fact watch limited sports programming. Race, politics, race, politics, race. BLAH! BLAH! BLAH! If I wanted his take on white people I would ask him. Stick to the sport, not your racist political views.

You're wrong.

And, as usual when you're wrong, you can't accept the fact that you're wrong.

That's not spin. That's fact.

No, that is not wrong. What he posted was a fact and you are denying that fact.

Bird, McHale, Ainge, and Walton. 4 of their top 6 players were white dudes. It's a fact.

Sanctioned double-standard fatigue.

As others have already pointed out, I recall the Celtics team of the 80’s doing alright for themselves.
