Definitely on brand for Biden’s woke military. What’s up is down, and what’s female is male.

Terrible…. When you get out, everyone has certain CIF issue that must be turned in but the command should have been able to write something official to cover the lost items!

I had one friend get told by one captain to place a piece of equipment on a flight to go to another captain. It went missing, and he had $3000 pulled from his account. The IO closed the case before even interviewing him. It did end up being found a few months later and he got his money back.

Another friend spent days traveling scouring the base looking for a toaster that ended up on his books, otherwise he would have been fined.

At the exact same time all this was happening, we left behind tens of billions of dollars of equipment for the Taliban in Afghanistan.

The military can be very selective about who it penalized and those it lets off the hook.

It is not unusual to have a lot of lost/damaged OCIE and TA-50 gear returning from deployment. The key is to take care of it as soon as you are wheels down at your garrison. Up to $5k the Battalion old man can sign off on the FLIPL and they usually do a few of these after every deployment. If you wait two years you are going to have to pay the statement of charges 99% of the time.

I am sorry but you can't sit for years missing OCIE and/or TA-50 and not expect a statement of charges. You simply have to take care of things timely. This is not new.

frick CIF.

4K is a lot of gear. Outside of my flak and sapis I don’t think all my CIF gear would’ve equaled up to that for deployment. I also didn’t take everything and we got issued a lot that wasn’t CIF or didn’t need to be turned in. Wonder what all he left behind.

I can't believe this is happening, but the armed forces have been a mess since the 1960's and the failed Vietnam campaign.

It just continues, and is getting worse. The military needs to be revamped from top down, and from sideways across. And to think recruitment targets are in the toilet-- what will we do in the event we are drawn into a war we never chose?

If people knew the bullshite of CIF, nobody would join. Seriously. Two places that have godly power is the armory and CIF outside the command.

Sad, but the last time we were the good guys was WW2. After that, soldiers became pawns for the corrupt.
