We don’t love FISA. It’s okay to not agree with everything Trump says.

Yes.

That wasn’t hard.

What a lazy response.

You’re not very good at this.

What a pussy statement.

You've only shown you have no principles and that you and anyone who shares similar views has wholesale abandoned Conservatism. Soft and useless.

But for a “Trump supporter” to defend it after the descent into the police state scandals of the last 10-12 years is incomprehensible.

They're perfectly fine with it as long as it is being wielded against their perceived enemies by their chosen color team. They have no principles left to guide them. This is the end state of identity politics and the division it sows.

I absolutely cannot believe the FISA process is deemed perfectly legal and in no question constitutional by all in the top tier of government, meanwhile birthright citizenship for anyone who crosses the border is a friken debate.

We are at war with people who likely infiltrated our country when our borders were open. Some how we have to have intelligence to find these people without losing our rights.

I think that’s why the elected people want to renew it which is to say that their bosses (the donor class and institutions) want it to entrench their power against anyone who doesn’t fall in line and to pick winners if needed in the private sector.

I truly believe most supporters here are just for whatever Trump wants.

If Trump were against it tomorrow again they’d be railing against its evils like they were for the last couple years.

If Trump wants war, war is good and anyone who opposes it is bad.

If Trump is against war, war is bad and so is anyone in favor of it and they don’t seem to see anything strange about shifting their support as needed to remain consistent with whatever their guy says or attacking people who support what their guy was previously in favor of.

It’s pure tribalism and I used to make fun of the left for being that way but now see that likely because of how intense the divide has become and internalized people are with their politics it’s true of the MAGA base as well.

We are well down the road to a civil war IMO but that’s a conversation for another day.

FISA is necessary, but it needs guardrails.

For example, when there is a reasonable suspicion that a US citizen's communications will be intercepted, a warrant should be required.

If a US Citizen's communications are intercepted in a non-warrant situation, those communications are to be quarantined and transferred to the FBI. The citizen is also to be notified of the intercept within 48 hours and afforded an expedited hearing for the complete destruction of the communications within 7 days of notification. The ONLY exceptions are when there is a specific, detailed finding of an imminent national security threat related to the intercept at issue by either the President of the United States or the Secretary of DHS.

There's a topic right now that's nothing but a Youtube video of Trump's own words. The first few responses call him a fig and claim he's siding with terrorists.

OK FOX news

in 25 years of war in the ME including this latest one, there have been no broadscale attacks in the US.

More people have died in the single Las Vegas shooting than from radical Islamic Jihad terrorists since 9/11

Quit being soft and begging for increasing power to the State
