September 2023- $3.88 and the average diesel price $4.49

A lot higher now than under Trump last year and diesel anytime under Biden

I think many people are going to stay home because they had enough of this nonsense. No reason why fuel should be this high during this administration. The R's are going to probably get smoked in the mid terms. Wait and see how much heating oil and the gas bill will be come winter.

RBOB Future quotes at the moment will keep prices over $3 for the next 12 months, gasoline should drop to the $3.50 range by Christmas and be around $3.10 by next September. Of course that could all change with one idiotic decision so I'd say he better say something.

Really, I understand where you are coming from and I don't think there is a good answer. I know in this day & age: anything 'admitted to' is, then taken, reworded and out of context. It's then used in campaigns, on both sides.
If it helps at all, even with additional attacks from the Houthis to help the IRGC, Brent oil just dropped below $100. Alas, speculative pricing of oil, appears to be a black art.
And no, I realize this won't help diesel.

you're being disingenuous. You know as well as everyone else that you don't compare high points to high points, because fuel costs rise and fall based on times of the year. the correct comparison is annually by a specific month. he correctly showed all previous Septembers.
There comes a point where you just have to admit that this Iran was is crushing us with oil and gas prices. Now you can make the argument that it is worth it in the end, but arguing that it's not the highest price of all time is silly. The reality is that Biden caused high gas prices due to his policies, and Trump is causing them due to this war.
