Some of his classmates said he liked to play video games which means he will have a gamer ID of some sort in all likelihood.
I’m thinking that the FBI isn’t considering gamer-stuff “social media” and is specifically referring to FB, Reddit, instagram, etc.

In fairness, Bletchley Park cracked Enigma because the Nazis were dumb enough to end every message with HH.

Maybe, but so far the only people we know he might be talking to would be his parents or his sister. All the reports say he was a reclusive loner, bullied and no friends to speak of, online or real life. I think discord is a method for communication between specific parties, like texting or otherwise.
Granted, the direction discord has gone in may blur the line but in the beginning it was more like Ventrilo or Skype than something I would consider social media.

I can maybe buy the stand down thing only if:
-there was actually supposed to be LEO, SS, Sniper on the roof and the other snipers knew there was supposed to someone up there.
-they can't confirm that it is not LEO or SS because the pitch of the roof is hiding him until he gets close to the peak.
-there had been no other reports or suspicious activity by an individual,
-no reports of people reporting an individual on the roof
-no report from a LEO that peaked over the roof and had a rifle pointed at him.
The fact that all the above happened, there is no way any kind of stand down order should've been given. Did a stand order occur?
If you needed to confirm these reports, you at least get DJT off the stage.
