You idiot. Carter was a wolf in sheep's clothing. Try reading the Bible instead of the New York Times if you want to opine on Christianity. Carter LOVED him some pedos, abortionists, phaggots and criminals. He fought for everything the Bible fights against. I think Carter MAY have known Christ but he has NO REWARDS waiting on him.

Having lived through the Carter administration, and him being a distant cousin, I will say until Biden he was the worst president ever. Carter was weak and made America weak and embarrassing. Reagan made us proud to be a American again

Jimmy Carter was one of the worst presidents of the 20th. century. Maybe the worst. I like Scott Jennings, but really there wasn’t much to “destroy”.

A few things:

How the fk can you visit Iran in the end of 1977 and not see a revolution brewing within a year? How much do we pay the CIA again?

Ironically, at the apex of the financial mess and wall street screaming....he appointed Volcker to the FED. By the time Reagan got in office there were signs things might be turning so Reagan left him and called it Reganomics!

Out of the abysmal failure of rescuing the hostages came the unification of the special operations unit of the US military.

And the Algiers Accord was not the reason the hostages were released. We had planes in route to Tehran and a second wave waiting with nuclear capabilities. Someone realized there was a new sheriff in town and released them. And suddenly the US was back to running the world.

And history will repeat itself. Out of all the disastrous policies of obama/biden we will see a golden age of America.

I like Jennings and think he is pretty spot on with most everything and now that I know more about Carter in just this one excerpt the less I respect him which is all he had from me.

I don’t get the support for Jennings position on this at all. This line of reasoning seems very anti-MAGA to me. So we are mad at Carter for one of the following reasons:

1. He was against one of the United States’ many post-WW2 foreign interventions and tried to stop it. These are the same interventions that many in the MAGA movement criticize, with good reason. Not only that, the one he attempted to put a stop to was the origin story for the endless Middle East morass that we hate.

2. He circumvented official positions of the current president. For this to be a valid point of criticism, we must be able to say that HW’s intervention in Iraq was unquestionably justified. Are people prepared to argue that Desert Storm was the one post-WW2 intervention that was unquestionably justified? Are ex-presidents not allowed to critique current presidents? Are they not allowed to rally allies to keep us out of these wars? I think that’s a bullshite stance and I don’t think you’d see, or have seen, Trump or his followers fall in line if Biden started making moves to put boots on the ground in Ukraine.

Please tell me if there is a an alternative reason we are supposed to be pissed off at Carter for doing what he could to stop a bullshite war. One could argue that the United States would be in a much more MAGA position if he were successful.

They're all cut from the same cloth that produced shite bags like Woodrow Wilson, Teddy Roosevelt and the ultimate marxist FDR.

Here's to 2025 starting... and a big course correction. Unfortunately, I believe Biden will give away another $50 billion before he gets thrown out.

Well...the Cajun Christian could say no and not let the money go, but we know what will probably happen.

Yeah! Showboating and giving away other folks money.

How many 2x4s did he saw and how many nails did he drive?

His ignoring the Shah of Iran and turning his back on American hostages showed his fake courage, humanitarian talent and his bowing to a Muslim Tyrant is not my idea of respect for Christians.

Sounds good except for the Anti-Israel part. We owe nothing to Israel, they are just as evil and corrupt as every other Middle Eastern territory.

I don't care about him or the upcoming memorials and funeral. I hardly remember him except I remember seeing pictures of the scorched corpses of US military on the sands of Iran.
