As for the only narrative the GOP Senators only had one.... attack Jack Smith.These GOP Senators didn't utter one word concerning the 2 cases Jack Smith brought against Trump.They couldn't dispute any Facts of the cases because there was no defense for the crimes Trump committed.

Other than exposing how unprincipled and dumb Schmitt is, the hearing was meaningless. It changed no one's mind about Jack Smith.
As with so many things, it makes me wonder what has stopped the Trump DOJ from prosecuting Smith. Same with J6 bogus committee...Liz Cheney ADMITTED witness tampering...etc, etc, etc.
Yeah, yeah, Jack Smith did some scummy things. If they were illegal, why not prosecute?

Josh Hawley chose to use his time to tear Smith a new a-hole over his unlawful acquisition of phone records of Congressmen and Senators and his perjury. As well he should have. Smith should go to prison for that, if nothing else.

Smith's accessing of lawmakers' phone records, the records of thousands of mom&pop republican donors, and those of journalists critical of Smith and Dems was Stasi-level stuff. Had a Republican done that, "journalists" would have gone nuclear about it. Smith also testified he was in full compliance with recommendations of the Public Integrity Section. He wasn't. Depending on phone transcripts, that may equate to perjury.
So all we are going to hear is the Hawks vs Hawkeyes nonsense. Patsies will abide that line of propaganda.

Schmitt had really impressed me through his legal work as Missouri AG. He obviously is a seasoned lawyer.
This was literally the dumbest thing I have ever seen a Senator do in terms of legal maneuvering. Even Mazie Hirono understands what a stupid, cheap stunt that was. It was a Hank Johnson-Guam Tipping-level stupid achievement.

The "Hawks" gotcha was the centerpiece of the day. Like the Dude's rug, it tied the room together.
They already had the content creators ready to push that as the story du jour (see: Johnson, Benny). It was a coordinated effort to make THAT the focus of the questioning.
If you're upset that people don't care about the other stuff, your focus should be on Schmitt for making that the planned focus of the circus yesterday
