I would like you to find the signed treaty or evidence of a signed treaty where NATO agreed not to expand eastward. Cause according to Gorbachev such agreement doesn't exist.

Russia doesn't get to dictate who is allowed to join and who isn't.

If China signed an agreement with Canada or Mexico to place troops on our border I would want it treated as an act of war.

Both of those nations are sovereign but by making alliances counter to the best interests of the United States could be viewed as an imminent threat and subject to invasion.

Small nations next to large ones might get away with being neutral, but rarely with being openly hostile.

Wow you seem like a reasonable guy and not a bought and paid for Zelensky Bro…..

- Russia has had firm control of Crimea for almost a decade. How is that going to change?
- If you want peace you need to hold true to agreements where Ukraine wouldn’t be a NATO member on the Russian border.
- You have a population in the Eastern portion of Ukraine that are basically ethnic Russians. You can’t outlaw their language they have been speaking for centuries.
- So you want to dictate religion to people who have been attending a church for centuries (specifically in Eastern Ukraine)?

Despite assurances to the contrary, NATO is not a ‘defensive organization’. Even though American memories are short, people elsewhere remember the bombing campaign against Serbia, and the removal of Gaddafi from power in Libya. What NATO is in fact is the military arm of US hegemony, a hegemony that has seen it expand eastwards through Europe, right up to Russia’s very own borders.

Cool authoritative substack reference. Gaddafi was removed for exactly what a defensive alliance is in place for: as retaliation for terrorism against NATO countries. Had he never brought down European airliners he would've never showed up on Europe's radar. And Serbia was bombed because Albanians were being slaughtered. Albania was on a path to NATO membership since 1992, which is why they were protected.

See, Russia doesn't like when they and their puppet states can't run roughshod over eastern Europe so they don't like nations joining NATO.

Where can I read these agreements?

Pretty sure Russia also has instated a force conscription policy as well as letting prisoners go free if they fight in Ukraine. So much fun watching the Z bros and Russian soy boys on here go at it like both of these countries aren't a huge waste of space.

It's been said over and over. If Russia or China meddled in Mexico 1/10 as much as we have in Ukraine, we would have started WWIII over it.. Just off the top of my head, we had.
- Nuland running a coup there.
- CIA straight up admitting to the NYT we put a dozen spy bases on the border the past decade. And, CIA has admitted to them again how much we have provided planning/input/assistance in this conflict since it started.
- the likes of Biden, McCain, and Lindsey visiting constantly.
- $100+ billion or whatever it is in financial assistance.

If I didn't know any better, that looks like a client state.

Russia invaded in retaliation to violating the no nato agreements,

You idiots are still pushing that bullshite? There was never any formal agreement between NATO and Russia that NATO would not expand. There is however a formal agreement that Russia signed which it said it would respect Ukraine's territorial integrity.

Russia's demands are ridiculous even as an opening offer. Basically those are the same demands that Russia made in February of 2022 when Biden sent Kamala Harris to meet with Lavrov to prevent an invasion. That offer was a nonstarter now and is a nonstarter now. Just more proof that Russia does not want peace.

This is fine by me. The U.S. loses nothing with these demands. We gain savings by ending the war so congress does have to sent money over there.

Definitely not a Zelensky bro but Putin is not our ally. It's weird to see a significant portion of the new Right going complete fanboi for a man who HATES AMERICA. It's stunning to see you all shilling for a murderous dictator.

NATO can extend to where it wants to extend. Russia doesn't get to decide where.

Agreed, but think about when we conquered the American SW and took it from Mexico. We aggressively taught English in school and Spanish was scrubbed as hard as it could from state and local governments and legal institutions.

When that church is a subversive actor designed to undermine the state, yeah.

Explain to us again how you are neutral in this war and how you don't side with Russia.

Not when you have the superior bargaining position, which Russia has. This negotiations with Russia to end a war, you can forget about all those "woke" ideas about whats fair and "equitable ".

If Ukraine doesn't want to lose more of its land and people, they will accept whatever they can.
If not, Russia will grind Ukraine into the ground and the world will sit by and do nothing.

Interesting derogatory descriptor, considering Putin is at best 5'8". Would you describe him similarly?

We can debate the rights and wrongs of this all we want, it isn't going to happen and for two reasons - Russia and Ukraine.

Ukraine won't agree to this because it leaves them completely open to invasion again so there will be more more.

Russia won't stop the killing and sending poor souls to get slaughtered by stupid meat-grinder tactics, so the peace negations are a farce on their part.

In either case, this all falls on Putin. When Putin decides there's going to be peace, there will be peace, and not a second sooner.
