Because Ukraine was never going to join NATO first of all. NATO is already on the border of Russia anyways. And neither Russia or China have any influence or power on our continent, like we have on theirs. They are not like us and can’t project power around the world like we can. They are not equal to us.

Here is the secretary general of NATO saying that Ukrainian membership has already been agreed to by 32 nations and therefore them being prohibited to join cannot be part of the peace deal:

The "why" of Ukraine joining NATO v. Mexico/Canada feeling the need to do something similar. It's just a terrible comparison.
A better would be Russia joining another defensive pact with some of the stans near the border of Turkey. Would NATO feel like they had to invade? No.

Basically Ukraine needs to surrender and prepare for the next invasion to finish them off while Russia rebuilds it military ....not really anything to discuss no surprise it ended quickly

The US began seeking membership action plans for Ukraine to join NATO back as early as 2006/2008 and almost achieved it in 2008 per multiple sources including published US state department releases.
Suggesting that NATO wasn’t seeking expansion into Ukraine pre-war is nonsense.
