Cassidy has 0% chance of ever being governor.

Nada.

Zilch.

I don't think his ignorance changes his ultimate point.

There's no chance Cassidy sniffs a win in a gubernatorial primary. Hell, there's probably no chance he sniffs 5%.

It's really hard to count him out in a state that has elections like we do. His biggest hurdle would be to make the runoff (assuming you have the major GOP vote getter like Landry and a prominent Dem on the other side). If he were to make the runoff though, he definitely stands a good chance.

I never saw this posted here, easily could have missed it though

Sen. Cassidy’s property taxes triple after opponent questions assessment

quote:

Cassidy’s 2021 property tax bill, due by the end of the year, is for the amount of $10,440.34, records show. Last year, the property tax for the same home was $3,391.11, records show.

quote:

The reassessment came after a political opponent last year asked why Cassidy’s 4,600 square foot home was not being taxed as much as other properties of similar size in the city.

quote:

The newspaper reported that Cassidy’s home was assessed at just $358,100, despite him having a $720,000 mortgage on the home as of 2016.

being governor of a shitehole state probably is still a pretty good scam.

The reason it's a shithole is because politicians have gotten rich and powerful in this state for 400 years (yes, I am aware 400 years ago was the 1600s)

I would vote Hillary over Cassidy.

If for no other reason than to send a message to the LA Republican Party

TL;DR - Here, please take heed to my heavily biased, Leftist slant on what you conservatives should be thinking.

Cassidy also voted for the Non-Infrastructure Infrastructure Bill.

He's done in Louisiana.

Definitely agree with you in a runoff scenario vs another Republican or a far left Democrat.

However, I don’t believe Louisiana is red enough to have two Republicans in the runoff for Gov, and I don’t really see Cassidy making it out of the jungle as the one carrying the GOP banner.

In a Gov runoff? Just him vs Landry?

Are 80% of the Democrats sitting him instead of voting? Are they going to vote for Landry?

He more or less aligned himself with all the buffoonery and ineptitude that's engulfed the national political stage at the present time. I highly doubt he'll benefit in any way. Much the opposite, in all likelihood.

Yeah that would be difficult for him. It really depends on how weak the democratic leader is.

Still a GOP majority in the state and he has pissed off enough of them that I can’t see him winning a runoff.

If he is the de facto Dem candidate, the GOP support will flock to Landry or someone else.

If there is a Dem candidate, Cassidy won’t get enough support to make the runoff.

If that’s the choice I’ll sit that election out.

seems like he'd be more right if he said JBE could come for Cassidy's Senate seat...

Bob Mann is a hack of the first order. At least we know Cassidy is running for governor.
