i don't think that's entirely true. i think a lot of people just see what's on the media or short clips on twitter, instagram, facebook or whatever and assume that it's a blurb that can be trusted. if CNN says "a plane crashed," it's not my first instinct to think they're lying. most headlines in general aren't fake news.
Right...which was my point in this whole other part of my post.

As much as I'd disagree with someone that watched the full video and still thought he was not justified in what he did, at least that person would have seen what happened. But to be in any position to have an opinion on anything, let alone anyone that is going to call themselves some sort of journalist, and clearly not ever have seen the available video footage is just mindboggling to me. This is not a case of having to default to some expert because you simply don't have the tools to understand the issue....say like some crazy physics issue. This boiled down to: A guy shot some people. He says he did it self defense. There is video of the whole thing. Is he correct?
I can understand how someone paying almost no attention to an issue can be misinformed through basic osmosis from the world around them. I'd also expect that kind of person to keep their fricking mouth shut about the issue...but I realize that's asking a lot.

my wife believed the "very fine people" hoax until i made her read the entire transcript. it's not because she trusts the media or hated Trump, it's just what she saw as the headline. as soon as she read the whole thing, she was all "wow. why didn't they say that he condemned WS and the KKK as a part of the story."
There’s a lot of people who think “the whole news media wouldn’t lie about something that you could so easily check out!” But sometimes it be like that.

But in this case we're talking about either people who proclaim themselves to be journalists or people who live on line on Twitter commenting on things all day long. For THOSE people, it's impossible if they are honest actors to now claim ignorance here. There was no new evidence that came to light. Both the chick in the OP in Twitter and the chick Bass mentioned from TYT are claiming they had no idea he was being attacked when he shot people. You have to work to be THAT uninformed.
gotcha. i guess i just mean that i don't begrudge your average person learning through osmosis through headlines as much as i do the lady in the OP or TYT chick. most of the public is just going to go "oh no. that's tragic." and then move on the next dance on tiktok and not opine about it.
my wife, naive as she can be may get upset about George Floyd or Michael Brown as it's presented on the media, but she's also not going post outrage about it either.
on my front, i haven't posted a thing to twitter, instagram, or facebook since millions of idiots got the idea that posting a black square for a career criminal was going to make a difference. that's the day that i decided the social media world is dead.

And that makes a difference how.

The narrative about this case that annoys me are the leftists trying to say that he was going out there intending to use his weapon. There isn’t anything that’s been presented that shows that. He was too young and not mature enough to have even been out there in the first place, but I’m sick of them trying to spin it that he was looking to murder people.

Wait wat? F this gay white earth.

This narrative annoys me as well. Totally irrelevant to the case. He was more mature than 100% of the people “out there” - including LEOs.

my neighborhood is a historic district so we have antebellum mansions next door to crack houses. my house is upper middle tier, but i'm next to some duplexes.
i have an older black lady neighbor next door to me who doesn't have a car and asks for rides. i never mind giving her one, but where she usually wants to go is a more seedy side of town. i carry a gun with me every single time.
i've often thought "am i provoking something by just bringing it with me?" but then think about what the situation would be if i needed it and didn't have it and say f that. i'd rather be in KR's shoes as it is than KR's shoes if he didn't have a gun.

All legal gun owners want to murder people. That's why they own guns.
Just ask any progressive. They'll explain it to you.

My main concern is that they think it is relevant the race of the deceased or the shooter. Either it was a crime or it wasn’t.

The fact that it matters to her is all you need to know

100%. I feel for people who have little time or little interest in these things. Despite having a stupid Political Science degree and having been keyed into this for most of my life, I went many years not paying daily attention to much news. Now...I was MUCH happier, but I was much less informed.
And I'm the same as far as Social Media in concerned. I jettisoned plenty of people I was "friends" with on there last year and it was great. I never posted anything political on there...I used it mostly to stay in touch with people I haven't seen in decades, so I refused to be lectured to on there.

Huge problem in this country is people place way too much self worth on how many years they went to school

So it’s all good now because he shot a few white people? Bunch of clowns.
That’s not what she is saying if you read the whole Twitter thread. She is just saying she was lead to believe it was a racially motivated shooting.

how does them being white change the case? It was murder when they were possibly POCs but now you know they are white so it is okay? Tell us you are racist without saying you are racist.
This. If you don’t see race or color, this is a simple case of person A shoots person B. Was person A justified in the shooting and in his self defense claim or is their evidence of a crime? The race of neither person A or B matters

This is just another leftist moron. What difference does their color make, dumbass bitch.
