Would you bring your car to a mechanic that makes $10/hr?
Why would you entrust the care of your child to a group that pays their employees such a shite wage?
The average daycare worker in LA makes around 12.00. I doubt most folks ask how much the workers get paid before they enroll their kids..

Rep. Ro Khanna Wants to Cap Child Care at $10 a Day
In other news, America suffers a shortage of day care centers!

Ro Khanna worked as an attorney for years before being a Rep. He did pro bono work for victims of contractor fraud after hurricane Katrina. For his clients.. it was certainly real work.

They have no idea how an economy works because the only thing they know is government so it is the solution for everything problem it creates

Child care for low income folks is already in place. It 's called Head Start.

There’s an easy way to stop this grandstanding. Agree to the cap in principle. The difference in costs of childcare per day and $10 would be available as a refund on taxes owed.

So she wants to eliminate all Day Care Centers - or the government makes up the difference? I will go with the latter.
Government control of child rearing while tax policies aim to destroy traditional families and force mothers into the workplace.
What could go wrong.

so.....
mandate $10/day child care.....
mandate $20/hr minimum wage...
mandate 2 adults in daycare...
mandate ratios of adults to kids...
....anyone see the problem here with a business trying to make a profit, let alone stay in business.....

This is why day care is so expensive and hard to find.
Its over regulated and govt subsidizes the costs for some, which raises the cost for everyone who doesnt get subsidies..

That's gonna be some hiiiiiiggggh quality childcare when it is gubment subsidized bullcrap.
Gubment quality hires.
Turnover will be insane.
The curriculum will focus on early indoctrination.
Teachers will have more kids than they can possibly handle.
Facilities will be generally understaffed and poorly maintained.
Children will die.
We paid like $1,200 per month PER KID 10 years ago. I can't even imagine what it costs now. When we had our 3rd kid, we shopped around and went to a facility that was $700-800/month and we ended up leaving within a couple months and going back to the higher cost facility.
We saw useless teachers on their phones instead of paying attention, unattended front desks to include OUR KID IN THE LOBBY at the time. Injuries and bites and such that we didn't have to deal with at the other place... and so on and so on.
I just wish that all these people that suck on the gubment teet were forced to provide something back, like enlisting in the army or picking up trash or something useful other than MOST LIKELY dropping off kid to return to gubment housing to drink a forty, smoke dope, and get pregnant by another dude.

12 kids 1 teacher 1 assistant
That us 120.00 a day total
$15 for the teacher
$10 for the assistant
25 total x10 hours
=250.00
-120.00
= negative 130 a day people will line up to go out if business...... yea!!!! Government

They want them all in government daycare centers so that they can start the indoctrination early.

Do you want 1 person with a GED who can't spell CPR watching 50 kids at a time...because this is a good way to ensure that's how the childcare market looks like
Posted on 9/27/24 at 12:38 pm to Jbird
The daycare centers pay outrageous insurance premiums to protect themselves from plaintiffs and juries comprised of the same people who would support $10 per day rates. If they would stop being overly litigious rates would drop for many services

If a daycare cost $10 a day…..,,I ain’t leaving my kid there.

Ironically, Ro's native country has an extremely ingrained familial support structure

You can't provide that service at that cost - and anyone who says they can are not properly caring for your child. The only way this works is if the government subsidizes child care- which I assume that this is where they are going.
Cradle to Grave
They are also counting on the people making over $250,000 a year to get gouged on their cost. Another income redistribution scheme.

You can't get basic daycare workers to actually work for less than $10 an hour. This guy is an unserious clown.
