Construction work has always been done by Hispanics in this country. That’s why they call it Manuel labor

I’m a plumber that’s been working on the McNeese Press box job and everybody outside of electricians, sprinkler guys and us are Mexican.

Plumbers and Electricians are the only cracker dominated trades left

quote:Just had my roof replaced. Probably 15 showed up sub-contracted through an American owned company. Of the 15, one could speak a bit of English and she was the owner of the sub-contracting company. She was out in her brand new F-250 crew cab sipping on a Modelo in the afternoon. They did a good job though and finished in one day.
If they strike out on roofing crew illegals, they’re bound to nab some meth heads as a consolation prize. Aim for tree cutter crews as well.

The criminals and gang members?
The ones not working and on welfare?
The ones that are working hard on construction, etc.?
Low hanging fruit - you see the 3rd group a lot more often, a buddy of mine has already called the hotline on a few roofing crews, tree services, and the guys that stand outside a few of the local gas stations "waiting for work"

I’m glad I recently got my roof changed. Although lower energy cost will lower shingle cost, Roofing labor prices are about to go up!

Start w/ the ones getting government benefits. Dudes working hard on roofs and walls should be the last to go.
Seconded.

When they're illegal they will work for pennies. Put a 250,000 fine on anyone hiring illegals. Problem partially solved.

My parents worked construction all of their life. 20+ years ago you would never see a hispanic worker in this area. now that is all you see.

I was going to say you're fricking nuts. But then you confused South Korea with North Korea, and I know you're just an idiot.

My son is an electrician with a large commercial electrical contractor. The company has a large commercial job (a school) in northeast Alabama that they were having difficulty with hiring local electricians. They brought in a crew of Honduran electricians who were supposed to be journeyman, about two dozen that were legal to work in US. My son said they were beasts when it came to running conduit, but seriously lacking when it came to wiring. The company had to send a half dozen extra electricians from Louisiana to redo a great deal of wiring.
Another thing my son told me was a few of the Hondurans could speak passable English, but most acted like they didn’t understand any English, making it difficult to direct them on things that had to be done. A mistake was made by payroll and they were shorted a days worth of wages on their weekly check. All of a sudden, the non English speakers knew enough English to complain that their checks were shorted.

1) criminals
2) last in, first out
3) freeloaders
4) hard working folks like roofers and whatever
But all illegals must go eventually but it will take forever

I think we'd fix a big part of the problem by saying we have only Asylum designated countries t
I would prefer a system that requires you to file for asylum in a different country And wait until approved
The problem here was these people came over on a travel visa to visit their brother and then filed asylum
There is a law firm in Miami processing these at an unbelievable rate and, as far as I can tell, there have not been any asylum hearings in at least four years

Then ... who will do roofs? Let's leave the hard working illegals for last.
