Yes.
Yes.

Probably would have studied engineering, but I’m happy with finance.

A. Yes
B. After graduating with a degree that I could've gotten anywhere, yeah I would've probably stayed home and went to college with all of my friends instead of going off by myself.
C. No but I would've started in accounting and not needed to take summer classes to catch up.

Ignoring all relationships I made:

1. Yes
2. In 1984 I would still go to GT. They've hopped on the "don't flunk anybody out" train so if I were doing it today probably a larger school with a good engineering program.
3. ME, no change.

I wasn’t serious about the things that were important when I started college. If I were focused on those, I’d have done much better, and finished more quickly.

I’d still go to LSU. Maybe change majors.

Answers follow
a) Would you go to college at all? - Yes
b) Would you go to the same college or a different one. -I would still select LSU
c) Would you have selected a different major? - Yes, I would have either studied petroleum engineering or geology. (Or possibly computer science.)*

*There was a fellow on the Tigerband snare line who was studying computer science back in the mid 80s. A few of us gave him a little grief about it. We figured he'd wind up building programs for accountants and such. When he mentioned he was enjoying his computer animation classes, we'd rag on him some more and ask if he planned on programming video games.

Years later, I'm at one of the animated Madagascar movies and watching the credits scroll at the end. Then Marty's name pops up in the credits for the animation - and it's not just some little part of the animation team either. He's one of the principal players. So, yeah, maybe I'd consider computer science if I could do it again.

No, no, no.

I could have gotten the job I have now without a degree, though the preparation helped and got my confidence up.

School? Nope. The school I went to then was nice. It is a disaster these days and has been roughly since I left.

Different major? No, because I like the job I have now and, while I would have liked to study some other fields, there wasn’t work there which I would have fit in with. (I love history but don’t have the right temperament to teach it below a college level. horseshite dealing with kids, parents, and administration would have driven me nuts.)

a. Yes
b. Same
c. Yes, get a history major since it would just be for fun now because I'm putting it all on BitCoin.

Back in the mid-80's not everyone went to college, so I am very happy I went to college. When you got out of college, a college degree really meant something, not so much now.

This is my view but from the 60s when it was rare for a poor kid to go to college. Moms really bragged about it back then. Today it means 'My child exists therefore he is going to college.'

Yes.

I’d like to think the same (Auburn). But I didn’t choose a college. I applied to Auburn because my friends did. It’s literally the only college I applied to. With a 3.9 GPA, good extracurriculars, and a 29 on the ACT, I probably could have gotten scholarship money somewhere. I didn’t even try though.

Most likely. I was a directionless waste of space from age 13-29.

Listening to a story last week on America's First News Radio regarding a study on 'regrets of college'. The polling questions were about 'If you could do it over again.....'
a. Would you go to college at all?
b. Would you go to the same college or a different one?
c. Would you have selected a different major?

Was curious to see how this board would answer the 3.

Knowing what I know now?

a. Yes, absolutely.
b. Tough question. I may well have chosen a different college simply for the better job opportunities but for the major I would have chosen it would have been perfectly fine for me to stay at NLU.
c. Yes.

Exactly my answers. Would have skipped a ton of pre-engineering courses that got lumped into electives and gone straight to pre-business courses.

Absolutely. I would have stuck it out with engineering.
