July 2025 - Norway
A Russian Jet crossed border over sea near Vardø; navigation error suspected.
August 2025 - Norway
A Russian jet entered over uninhabited Finnmark area; unclear intent.
August 26, 2025 - United States (Alaska ADIZ)
Russian Tu-95 bombers and Su-35 fighters detected in Alaska Air Defense Identification Zone (Air Defense Identification Zone); remained in international airspace but triggered intercepts.
September 9–10, 2025 - Poland
19–21 Russian Geran/Shahed drones (with extra fuel tanks) entered via Belarus, penetrating deep (100 km); 3–4 shot down by Polish/NATO jets (Dutch F-35s). Poland closed airspace over Warsaw/Lublin; first direct NATO-Russia engagement. Invoked Article 4.
September 10, 2025 - Latvia
Russian drone detected and intercepted during Ukraine strikes.
September 10, 2025 - Lithuania
A Russian drone entered briefly; monitored by NATO forces.
September 10, 2025 - Finland
Drone crossed border during regional strikes.
September 13, 2025 - Romania
Single Geran drone entered ~10 km, operated for ~50 minutes at low altitude; F-16s scrambled but did not engage as it exited toward Ukraine.
September 13–25, 2025 - Denmark

Three armed MiG-31 jets entered ~100 km near Vaindloo Island for 12 minutes without flight plan/transponders; intercepted by Italian F-35s, Finnish/Swedish jets. "Unprecedentedly brazen." Invoked Article 4; NAC meeting.
September 19, 2025 - Poland
Russian Su-35s violated safety zone of Petrobaltic platform in Baltic Sea.
September 24, 2025 - United States (Alaska ADIZ)
Two Russian 2 Tu-95 bombers and two Russian Su-35 fighters in ADIZ; intercepted by E-3, 4 F-16s, KC-135s. Remained in international airspace.
In six months we've seen almost 6x more incursions (or near incursions) than we saw in the previous two and a half years. All of this taken together, I would think it's more likely that Trump is showing Putin that he's not Neville Chamberlain and the NATO agreement isn't going to be treated like the Treaty of Versailles.
Since posting that, there have been at least 8 other incursions of NATO sea, land and air spaces attributed to Russia. I don't think they are gearing up for an invasion nearly as much as I think they are trying to provoke a response to justify a greater response.

Attacking NATO at any point ever would be suicide. Unless Trump withholds support, Russia would be absolutely demolished and it wouldn’t be close. They are struggling with Ukraine. Just adding Poland alone would cause the Russian military to collapse.

People don't seem to be able to think 2 steps down the line.
If Poland a NATO ally is attacked we'd be bound by NATO treaty to come to their help. That would not be good.
Russia is doing its best to break NATO by pushing up to the red line and seeing if we'll jump on board.
