CFI ratings don't even register with this type of aircraft. The very least it would require an IFR, Multi-Engine Turbine, Commercial , and if a Charter is worth a shite, their Pilots also have an ATP, plus a Type Rating on top of the FAA certs. CFI is an hrs building measure for civilians. If She was only 20 yrs old I would find it hard to believe she had more than an ME rating.

Why didnt they go around the storm? Did she request a go around and ATC denied?

Doubtful, a tail plane stall causes a harsh nose pitch down. Its the worst thing that can happen. They were at 35000 feet and dropped 20000 feet a minute so its very doubtful there was anything they could do at that point. They would have needed to be perfect and fast from the start and that still might not have saved them. Tail plane stalls have a high fatality rate.

Hopping on private plane tomorrow headed to Canada. Wish I wouldn’t have listened to that audio.

Don't worry, bro. It's like a 1:38,000,000 chance that will happen to your plane. You'll be fine.

The good thing about an aviation mishap is people usually are aware of what happened and don’t make the same mistake. That’s why everything is written in blood.

Damn. That's tragic.

ETA: That's the husband that died in the plane crash, for those who may not know.

Miami Center cleared them for left and right deviations. Within the past 6 months this very same aircraft had severe wx issues with a 700 ft altitude bust in severe turbulence, and got their asses chewed by atc for not reporting they were unable to maintain their assigned altitude.

I'm assuming you listened to that audio. I'm not sure why that gal was still flying after that. She had a rather nonchalant attitude about the entire thing.

This is why the old guys you worked with were the first ones to turn back or not go out at all on account of weather. They've had their arse kicked enough to know.
