Without checking, anyone know how many people were killed last year in "mass shootings"?

The # is hardly an emergency.

FWIW, it's 97 people. Total. Yes, 97 or 1/3 of the total murders of big cities like Baltimore/Houston/ChiRaq

'You want to talk about a national emergency? Let's talk about today, the one-year anniversary of another manifestation of the epidemic of gun violence in America. That's a national emergency. Why don't you declare that emergency, Mr. President? I wish you would. But a Democratic president can do that. [A] Democratic president can declare emergencies as well,' she threatened.

This would be the absolute end to the Democratic party

She's wrong as usual.

Trump is right on the issue. Americans want a secure border.

No sane person is against it.

If the Congress won't secure the border, the President must. It is his duty.

A gun violence emergency declaration is a loser for Dems. A huge loser politically.

Winners win, losers lose. Pelosi is a loser.

i think the application of DP also plays a major role

constructing a wall for "national security" doesn't require DP outside of eminent domain

seizing weapons from individuals will require DP

AOC doesn’t have any problem with that. She’s a radical communist and a mad dog. I will not see her come to power and turn us into the Soviet Union overnight. Anyone who is for this is short sighted and stupid.

I’ve never really feared Trump, but I fear the people my age who have been inspired by him one way or the other and will be in power in 20 years. I fear that Trump is the Sulla to our Democracy, and there is a young Caesar out there waiting to rip down the Republic. AOC is the first of many of these clowns, and some will be coming from the Right as well that have no respect for Democracy either.

Boosie thinks the border situation and gun violence are similar but they really aren’t.

And it seems to me lots of people on this board don’t know the types of declarations that have been made since that law was enacted.

This is an amazing idea. Let’s skip the prelims and the weak shite like walls and abortion and go straight to national gun confiscation.

Can’t. fricking. Wait!

One is to finance something that is being built to protect the country's border. The other is an infringement on a person's constitutional right. Sad you can't tell the difference.

The fact that so few people realize this is shocking.
