That popped up on copilot, not as many as you think

Direct employment of the studio is only a fraction of total employment. The gig workers will follow along too, which is orders of magnitude higher.

"TX should prepare for a huge influx of leftists"

This is happening regardless of a Paramount move

Can you imagine that legendary studio lot sitting abandoned? Or the Warner Lot? Or Universal? I can’t wait for that billionaire tax to pass. That state may actually cause such an exodus, it eventually goes red.

It’s already rumored Skydance will sell either the paramount or WB lot and it will be redeveloped as luxury condos.

The old CBS studios lot sat vacant for years. Netflix just got it for a steal. They negotiated the price of down from $2bil to $300 million.

I don’t think picking up and moving an industry is as easy as many would think. It’s not rocket science but it requires a ton of specialized labor

Also the film and television is dead in the US

This trend of West Coast companies moving to Texas needs to fricking die off. We’ve already got too many companies as it is.

I can understand why they would want to leave California. The "Blue State Exodus" is real.

the reason the threating to leave is so the California AG will drop the lawsuit merger

Paramount pictures employs less than 5K people world wide. That's not enough to flip most cities in Texas much less turn the state blue. I swear some of you need to learn how to use a calculator.

That’s because of taxes, unions, etc. California has pushed them out. But still, the optics of Hollywood,,, closing down. Dying.

This is all a plan to turn Texas blue. They're doing it in GA, TN, and NC, too.

It’s not just Democrats moving to these states.

IF the number of Californians that move from CA to TX was distributed at the same ratios between both parties as those who voted in the 2024 Presidential election, it would take 7.5 million Californians to turn TX blue (according to voting patterns in the 2024 Presidential election). That would leave California with half the voting public it had in 2024.

No thanks, those Commifornians can stay right where they are.

Keep all of Hollywood in California and let it go down with the ship.

You are correct but to be fair they are in the process of buying WBD which has over 35,000 full time employees
