I agree but the Feds have allowed States like Oregon to do this in regard to legalizing drugs that are federally illegal. Also, allowed them to maintain sanctuary cities without fighting them properly, until now.
These kinds of things give them the de facto "permission" in their minds. May be what they point to to say they have the de facto "right" to do this and anything else they want.

Cut off all their federal funding for transportation and education. If it persist, keep going to all other programs. They are treasonous.
