So Oregon has goven, in writing, an order for state government employees to deliberately violate 8 U.S.C. § 1324?
That seems really smart.

The Trump administration needs to drop the hammer on any state or city that refuses to cooperate with the effort to deport illegals who have no right to be in this country.

States cant make up laws.
They have. 20+ states have laws that say its legal to grow, possess, use and sell marijuana and the feds do nothing about it.

Screw that, cut anything that crosses state lines, highways, internet, water, power, airport, SWIFT banking system, ocean freight crossing federal waters. Lets see what kind of pioneers they really are.
What the heck, mate. I live in Oregon.

That’s a choice. Doesn’t mean they can’t, it would just be politically stupid.

Simple: cut all Fed funding.
Good luck
Good luck

We should allow states to opt out of deportation…and they don’t get a penny more in aid. If you can pay for it then knock yourselves out. States rights.

What kind of training are they given for discontinuing federal funds to state of Oregon?

Oregon mandates training for state workers to not cooperate with Trump deportation plans
this is a simple fix and can be a "teachable moment"...
step 1 is to arrest and prosecute those who are actually preaking the law, all the way up to the governer if need be, have to go zero tolerence here.
step 2 is simply suspend ALL federal funding until they are compliant with federal law
step 3 is give them all the help they dont want in the form of federal law enforcement investigations... leave no stone unturned..(regardless of what their politics are, no politicians; state or local govt. workers want feds snooping around)..
start at the bottom and work up, the front line supervisors at the jails should be the starting point.., they will be forced to comply with the law or prove they were given clear direction to obstruct federal laws, either way this 100% will be the best way to nip this shite in the bud. A sgt. in the jail making 20 bucks an hour aint tring to get federalized over a bunch of amigos he dont even know..not happening.. a little heat and they crumble

All they need to do is start withholding federal highway funds from Oregon and they would change their tune in 24 hours, Trump needs to go hard after states that do this. He is chief executive and should withhold all federal funding.

I agree. Let Oregon and others have all the supposed benefits of illegals. My guess is they will move to the right in kess than a generation.

Literal treason.
State and local officials do not have to comply with federal agents. They can't obstruct, but they don't have to assist.
So if ICE comes in for a raid, Sheriff's officers can't impede, but they don't have to help. Illegals are breaking federal law and are subject to federal arrests.
It's modern day nullification
More Red States should try it.

Is the law clear?
I am honestly asking.
So a sheriff is sent a request/demand that a person in their custody be held for an additiinal 3 or 4 days past sentence or other court/statutory/regulatory release time to give ICE time to come pick up the inmate.
Without a court order how is it legal to hold that person? I mean I don't think Congress can just pass a law ordering States to imprison people just based on a federal agency's request/demand.
Am I missing something?

Agreed. This is aiding and abetting foreign agents. Trump may be justified in sending the Army to arrest these people.
