Seems to me you could leave the plant intact and just hit some major distribution infrastructure. Hit it hard enough to make any repairs last for months.
I’m no electrical engineer but seems you could selectively turn off power to certain areas instead of an entire city.
That might cause them (the IRGC) to relocate. Maybe you want to stay where they are.
I’m kind of surprised we haven’t sent in a highly mobile force to hammer the IRGC fighters directly. Like, a raid but with the sole intention of hammering on them for 15-20 minutes. Then split no matter the outcome. Probably somewhere with a good evacuation route just in case.

Ill say this, Im all for removing the IRGC and extremists from power in Iran. frick them. At the same time, Im tired of this shite going nowhere. They are not going to negotiate. They are not giving up nuclear. They are still murdering civilians for protesting. Now they are dumping oil. We either need to shite or get off the pot. TODAY

Historical daily high temperature for Al-Jubail Saudi on May 30 is 109 degrees F. Around July 1 it hits 113 F and the humidity goes up really bad. Not a nice place to be for about 3 months. Air conditioning is critical.
Basra, Iran has a very similar temperature profile

We need to realize we're in a war and to treat this like any other war we've been in our nation's history. Which is to say, to accept that wars take time to win and require endurance. And not constantly asking your enemy "hey, here's yet another cease fire extension, are you ready to negotiate NOW?" "No? No worries- I know your leadership is divided, here's another cease fire while you figure things out." Doing that just gives the hardliners encouragement and makes them think that we are weak and unable to accept a little economic strain. And that if they just hold out a while longer we will quit.

Hit the electrical substations and high voltage transmission towers and leave the electrical plants intact. That way power can be restored quickly after IRGC removed. By the way. you need helicopters to string the high voltage lines between the towers.

Israel tried that earlier in the war by dropping graphite bombs on power lines and they had the lights back on within half a day. Not worth the cost and risk to the pilots to do that.

I bet it'd take years to replace those high voltage transformer that would be destroyed. Those don't grow on trees and usually require year or more of a pre-purchase package on projects that require them. With all the data centers being built across the world I bet there's a long order list.
Maybe somebody would give up their equipment for Iran?

Not sure how blowing up the power will kill the IRGC but I guess Israel and our allies know more than me.
Seems like that would just make life miserable for the citizens. Seems like that would just make the humanitarian crisis dire when millions of people have not drinking water.... which was already and issue in Tehran before the war started.
This statement makes it sound like Israel thinks that we should take direction from them:
quote:
Israel believes no deal will be made with Iran and has informed the US that any return to fighting must include the destruction of Iran's entire energy infrastructure in an estimated 24 hours.
Who is calling the shots? Us or Israel?

I think Israel is right. Iran is just stalling hoping that Trump goes TACO.
This needs to end . Start turning out the lights. Let Iran know the most in demand occupation for the next 10 years will be a candle maker.

The US Defense Department is declining to comment on a possible recent strike on Kharg Island, Iran’s main oil export terminal, reports The Associated Press news agency.
Call it shilling Iranian propaganda if you’d like, but it’s pretty fascinating to see the non-us satellite images that are starting to pop-up.
There’s already little good information available. Imagine how much worse it would be if we could only see what the State Department publishes.

Another deadline has passed and no reply from the Iranians on the framework proposal. For the love of God, lets just get this over now.

Well this will be interesting if they try to sever those cables.

NEW: Iran is preparing to assert full sovereign control over the seven undersea internet cables passing through the Strait of Hormuz, with foreign firms required to obtain permits, pay transit fees, and operate under Iranian law, per Fars.
The cables carry 15-20% of global internet and financial data traffic linking Europe, the Gulf, and Asia. Cable management and maintenance would be exclusively assigned to Iranian companies under the proposal.
The IRGC previously warned of cutting the submarine cables passing through Hormuz, which Gulf states depend on for over 90% of their internet, banking, and cloud services. Iran relies on them for less than 40%, with the rest routed overland through Turkey.

They will have to retrain their suicide dolphin fleet since we sank all their ships.

This is why you ignore and keep walking past the homeless guy who calls you a “f$&:ing B!tch”
Sure, it be nice to knock him down. But you have much, much more to lose.
Just leave the guy to his insanity and go home to your big beautiful house, your beautiful wife, and your disappointing kids.
